A route that I would love to see in the future is my local line which is The east lancs line, particularly Preston to Colne! Seeing this in the game in the Northern rail Blue & Purple era would allow some good rolling stock to be used!

    Route facts
    - 31 miles between Preston and Colne

    - a “Glossop line” feel to the route, starting at a big station and cutting through the country side and finishing at a smaller station

    - Lovely scenery throughout the route, especially the Darwen Moors, pleasington, nice open fields with some great vegetation throughout the route, would look brilliant in summer conditions

    - 18 Stations

    Rolling Stock
being a route operated by Northern Rail only, we could see the following Locomotives below Depending on the ERA. ideally, I’d like to see this route in the Era with the old Blue and Purple Livery!
    - Class 158
    - Class 150 (/1 & /2 both run on this line)
    - Class 142
    - Class 156 (still run as of today)
    - Class 153

These are the trains that used to run in that Era, around 2015-2018 before Northern rail was Rebranded into the white livery. As of today, the train listed below are the trains that run on this line as of today!

    - Class 195 Civity
    - Class 150/1 & 150/2
    - Class 156

    Route opportunities

    - Route Hopping at Preston for Blackpool Branches & WCML SHAP

    - Layers which will include Class 66 Freight runs (Between Preston and Blackburn. Freight turn off at Daisyfield junction after Blackburn station for Hellifield and Clitheroe. 66’s tend to pull aggregates, cement wagons, and bitumen tankers on this route)

    - Railtours are seen on this line as they pass my house! Railtours often Include steam engines as well as Class 47’s, 37’s and very rare, Blue Pullman and Class 43’s! (Very rare though :( )

    - Route could include the Line up to Clitheroe which could allow for more gameplay opportunities, with both passenger runs and freight. Trains tend to run between Blackburn and Clitheroe. Blackburn station serves as a junction station, where you can go from Blackburn to: Clitheroe, Colne, Manchester Victoria, Bolton.

    - Blackburn King Street Depot ( or LMD: Light Maintenance Depot). This Depot is not very old and was built in 2017 to store trains as the WCML electrification upgrade took place. I currently work at this Depot as a TPO and it is a nice small depot. With 6 sidings, I believe up to 30 DMU’s can be stored here, with a Train wash available on the Exit Road and Road 1 & 2 being Fuel and maintenance roads!

collectible’s - can include Route maps, Caution signs, Trash cans, and posters

Why do I want to see this route in TSW?

    - the reason I want to see this Route is because I feel like it would be a very smooth run to do, being able to take in very nice scenery in some places and the gameplay opportunities with the rolling stock.

I feel like this route would be cool because of the links it has with Blackpool branches and WCML SHAP. with Blackpool branches in particular, you have both the Blackpool lines as well as the Omskirk Line branching off from Preston.

As you branch off the Mainline on BPB Towards Omskirk, have you guys ever noticed that line that runs parallel to the Omskirk line which turns off at Farington Curve and ever thought “I wonder where that goes to?” Well now, you will be able to know where that line goes to as that is the Line listed above! I see this route as another “Jigsaw” in the puzzle of Preston and the lines that Preston serve! :)

The amount of rolling stock this route COULD have would be pretty cool, all Sprinters (with the exception of a Pacer). There are trains that do both stopping services that stop at all 18 Stations as well as Express services which tend to do Non-stoppers between Blackburn and Preston!

Reply with your thoughts below and If your local like me :)

below is some photos I’ve got of the route!

I’ve always said we need a class 156 in this game, would work on many routes and it’s a great DMU!

I wouldn't say no to another Sprinter. Already have 3 of them, might as well add another.

Exactly and shoving them all on this route (if the game can handle it), would be like a network style route although this route is just one line Hahahah!

Absolutely your spot on the class 156 is very iconic it’s a pity EMR got rid of them for dull turbostars
