I think instead of ECML in modern day I would like to see in the steam days instead. The time period I would like to see this route is 1930-1940.
    Locos:
    LNER A3 Pacific’s
    LNER A1 Pacific’s
    LNER Thompson B1
And what ever did the local runs on the ECML.
    Rolling Stock:
    LNER Teak Coaches
And what ever the freight wagons were
    Loco Add-ons
    LNER A4’s
    And other locos
If you do like this suggestion please do comment on this post and if I have missed anything do also comment on this post Thanks.

The Thompson B1 was not introduced until 1942, this is slightly after your time period. I would be inclined to stick with the B1 though. The B1 replaced a lot of older designs, none of which are well known. The main reason Thompson introduced the B1 was to enable the LNER to scrap a large number of old, worn out locos.
The Peppercorn A1 was not introduced until 1948. The earlier Gresley A1 (aka A10) was a forerunner of the A3, it was a bit less powerful but otherwise very similar. I would suggest leaving out the A1 and going with the A4.
Another well known LNER class is the V2. These were powerful mixed traffic locos, larger than the B1.
For heavy freight I would suggest the O4. These were designed by Robinson for the Great Central Railway. Large numbers were built by the War Department during the First World War, most of them ended up on the LNER. Many of them were rebuilt by Gresley, resulting in a large number of sub-classes.
For a small freight loco you could include the J39. There were lots of other types of 0-6-0 freight locos, but none of them really stand out.
For suburban passenger - Thompson's L1 class 2-6-4T was not introduced until 1945. Before that there were several classes of tank engines of 0-6-2, 2-4-2, 4-4-2 and 0-4-4 layouts. The N7 and N2 0-6-2T are probably the best known. There was also a V1 2-6-2T, but I don't think any of them worked on that line.

Tranquil has stolen my thunder so I am just going to agree and add something. The something I will add is that if you include the B1s they would have done a lot of the suburban services. I think LNER steam is brilliant but to get a somewhat adequate steam ECML you will need:
    A4s, A3s, V2s, B1s and O4s to get a fairly decent representation.

I think a great line to introduce LNER steam would be the East Lincolnshire line in the early 50s/ late 40s which I suggested a few months ago as it gives freight and passenger work and only requires a B1 and V2 loco wise but still gives that mainline experience and leaves room for DLC.
Great suggestion but sadly I find it unlikely to happen.

I feel like freight trains have been left out from this recommendation so I would add something like an GCR 8K/LNER O4 or a Tank Engine like a J50

I think this suggestion however it would be more practical for dovetail to set this route in the time of transition between steam and diesel to please more people and therefore make more money
