The route map in the manual for this DLC includes the Hertford Loop and the in-game map shows it, but it is not available in Quick Drive. Does this loop in fact exist in the DLC?
It's just track and terrain, although i think someone somewhere has added the scenery. Herre's what I said in another thread regarding thi.
On the ATS site there is an add-on that adds the missing scenery for the loop https://alanthomsonsim.com/downloads/the-hertford-loop-v1/ But the list of requirements is quite large included a route that you need an ATS Subscription for and another which is gone Make yourself a Free Roam and have a drive around the loop to see it now There are no stations, buildings, bridges or tunnel mouths and you drive in to a blank wall in places but it does not stop the train And there are no wires but as the track is set for Electric trains you can still drive them
I have not downloaded the Hertford Loop but I think it installs as a separate route from the ECML-South
I think the original intention was so they could be scenery extensions at a later date, like the Sheerness branch DLC for London to Faversham. Both the Riviera line and GEML have similar areas with no scenery, also released around the same time.
The DP simulation extension above is not the Hertford Loop - it is the Cambridge line which diverges from ECML at Cambridge Jctn just north of Hitchin
The ATS version is the only one I am aware of at the moment with decent scenery added in. As Peter says though, the list of requirements is steep and expensive unless you've already got them all, including an ATS subscription (for Missing Link), the £12 OHLE pack from there as well, at least one recent Just Trains route, and also a copy of the discontinued North Wales Coastal. It does indeed install as a separate route from the original ECML South. I don't recall if the extension gives you a quick drive to KX via the Hertford Loop or via Welwyn but there is an included scenario that should take you that way then on to Finsbury Park.
I didn't say it was the Hertford loop but thought you might be interested. Sorry to have bothered you.
I hope I did not offend you - interesting to know that branch exists, but was not the one I was looking for. And would require far more DLC I do not have.
