Given that we have the Cathcart and Edinburgh assets, would DTG consider doing the route to Glasgow Central from Edinburgh? I feel it has a strong case due to the fact: It could offer incredible runs from the midlands or west coast mainline all the way to edinburgh as well as glasgow, that would be incredible as a route if technically possible. It would offer long passenger run services to and from Glasgow for commuter at various speeds IRL there's fast/express and local (call at all station services) Scenarios for the Azumas Scenarios for the 385, 380 and the 158 (occasionally, usually moved sometimes at night and runs late night services) I'd imagine possibly some decent freight runs? I think it would be a strong contender and given the length of the route, could be charged at a good price without people raising much issue.
I could see this, as person who wants the North Clyde line for TSW, but I think dovetail will go for something short and sweet like the Borders Railway.
Although, if they were to add it they could just make it an expansion for the Edinburgh to Glasgow via Falkirk High route and rename the Edinburgh to Glasgow lines.
I like to think that with each push into new routes in this region, it would open up the possibility of reusing assets for sections of routes to be revisited for extensions or/and separate route DLC too as its a really active condensed region itself which many connections.
If made by DTG or a third party that cares, I'm more than happy to have more Scottish content in the game.
Would be good for the 380/385 however the 800s from LNER do not go Via shotts those go along the WCML past motherwell then to carstairs before turning at carstairs heading towards wester hailes which is another route between the 2 cities.
Would be AI, unless they added the route via Carstairs as well. Could add it as a diversion scenario?
No they didn’t. LNER have 1 train a day that goes Glasgow - London King’s Cross via carstairs junction that service just started at Edinburgh.
I'm not super clued up on freight on this route but is there any spots along the way that could work out well for it? Definitely feel like this is a strong contender anyways for passenger routes and alike.
