    Hi all,

I hope this can reach internally at DTG I apologise for those I've tagged in to this as well. The TSW 5 editor seems to not have working cooking even though it was promised as one of the things fixes the we got with TSW 5 editor. Is this something that could be addressed as it might be a quick fix and also it's a shame that we the community have not had the full promises fulfilled that have been made.

Also, I just fear the the editor will sit at roadside for multiple weeks and months and the caption of improvements TBC.

DTG Matt DTG Alex apologise for tagging you both in this but due to the circumstances I feel it's right it's flagged as something that could be resolved along side game in terms of this specific cooking thing being sorted :)

AFAIK cooking works just fine - but there's a bunch of steps to do it. I've had a document in from the engineer that worked on it and i'll be talking with the community team later about how they want to get that out to people, eg.. via an article.

    Matt.

Hi Matt, we;ve received that guide which is amazing however cooking still isn't working, it seems on our end it won't cook unless there is an asset registry generated and this also seems to be halting the process - "BasedOnReleaseVersion argument is still required for cooking with the PC Editor. Changes which remove the requirement to generate an AssetRegistry.bin to skip cooking of cooked files have not been intigrated into the release build of the editor."

We've fed back to Alex on discord to hopefully go back to internal to see whats missing. :)

Yep, we're looking to see what's got out of alignment.

The solution of trainsimcz was to generate an asset registry of everything that is not from you so that the cooking process knows what files should actually be cooked.

Well hopefully dtg sort out the mess that's happened and fix cooking as it was promised to us the community after all. And we've waited a year already for it to be fixed and working without modding the editor
