    Hi,

Anyone else trying to import a KML file and the editor just crashes :(

Has anyone found a "fix" to this problem or is it just me who messed up my KML file from QGIS.

Not sure if importing .kml files is the same as .osm files but when importing .osm files, I found that larger files with large chunks of data would cause the editor to freeze or take an exceptionally long time to load. I cut the file size in half and it still froze for about half an hour before finally importing successfully. The guides created by the .osm file are extremely helpful when building a route and they do work but are extremely resource intensive. I have 32 GB RAM and the editor was still lagging so badly that I had to use an even smaller file. Granted, the area I was importing was an extremely urban area in Queens, NY, USA and the guides created by the file had to have numbered in the thousands, perhaps tens of thousands, despite it being a relatively small geographic area. Even with the smaller file there was still a considerable lag. I'm considering doubling my RAM to 64 GB, but in the meantime, I'll probably just use smaller files one at a time.

It's not broken, try using a smaller file.

Okay, found a way to not make the QGIS file crash, it is a bit weird but if you import it into google earth pro then re export it it works...... don't ask why it just does :)
