After about an hour or so of working in the editor I often find parts of the menu system begin flickering when accessed and can’t be selected. For example it becomes impossible to select Save All or to change the edit mode. This has been a problem for roughly the last week or so and I have had to shut down and restart the editor in order to carry on working. I wonder if it is only me or is everyone else seeing the same sort of behaviour?
Not exactly the same, but do experience 2 similar things after a few hours in the Editor here as well. 1. I use keyboard shortcuts quite often to switch through menus. After a while, these shortcuts don't seem to work, anymore. (I think this might actually be the shortcut equivalent to that you can't select menus vias the UI). My workaround then is selecting the menus via the UI. 2. The Gizmos and other tools of a menu sometimes start to not work correctly anymore. If a back and forth switch between menus does not help, restarting the Editor is the only way to go with it, if you need those tools.
NOt sure what graphics card set up you have but it might be worth having a look at this. UE4 and the TSW Editor suffer from it. I had black menus but it also mentions flickering. https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5157
It’s not so much the flickering that’s a problem but more that the program menus no longer drop down properly and can’t be selected. I don’t think it’s a graphics card problem, to me it seems more like a memory leak or some other software malfunction that is almost bringing the editor to it’s knees.
