If DTG are looking for a new country route, I would recommend some of Mexico’s scenic route from Creel via Divisadero and Sinaloa to the Pacific city of Lis Mochis, one of the greatest train journeys in the world. Traveling on the El Chepe express which glides through the world’s largest canyon region of Copper Canyon one of the great natural wonders of the world. The Chepe route might be a marvel of railway engineering, but provides a vital link to the communities on the journey, the train makes a steep 200 metres decent to the valley floor below, to do this the train enters a 930 metre tunnel and doubles back on itself turning a 180 degree loop inside the tunnel and crosses a 200 metre curve on a bridge which is a triumph of Mexican engineering. There is a plague on the loop to commemorate this achievement. This route is much too long to feature in the game but a beneficial portion of the route maybe interesting to rail followers.
