Alright! I've just exported a new train into TSC without any dramas. I've added the train into a route no problems and I did make sure that 'Player train' was checked before clicking that big play button to drive it. I am completely baffled, it just won't move and I can't figure out why. I have only exported the non-pantograph car so far. But surely it has to work in the sim... Right? And does the non-driving car with the pantograph on it has to be set up as an electric locomotive or passenger carriage in the blueprint editor? Not even sure what I'm doing.. As for the diesels I have a little knowledge but not advance enough LOL I kind of don't want to upload the igs ai and other files as it's an Adelaide Metro A-City 4000 Class I'm testing. And trying to get it moving...
Any ideas how I can get the train moving? I've went through everything and still not moving. TS will not allow me to press the P key or use the HUD to raise the pantograph so I can't get any power to the train and the route is electrified and does work with other electric trains. This isn't the only Australian electric train I've got in a similar combination and if I can't get this train moving, I just have to give up!
You must use engine blueprint (bp) for both. The one with a simulation bp with traction (use a simulation bp without traction for the cab car) must have pantograph control value. It doesn't need to have geo or animation, but the control value needs to be there so that the engine is "ON" Are you using simple controls? Seems like some stuff are missing form the HUD.
Also does the Track show Electrification Properties? The Wires are there for show. Try it by running an Electric loco or train to test.
The route is definitely electrified, I wouldn't even know how to check the track electrification properties? As you can see the Japanese train working without any issues in this screenshot I also tested the train in Tokyo Commuter and still not passing go, collecting $200 and getting a get out of jail free card!
Yes, I am using simple controls! I have switched over to expert controls and still didn't work.. I used the developer example electric train simulation, engine and other blueprints. Sure as hell I couldn't figure it all out on my own! I have used the diesel blueprint for the NR Class and XPT and they work without any issues.. Sorry mate! I'm still new to the long learning curve at importing trains into TSC. And I have absolutely no clue what you mean by saying.. "The one with a simulation bp with traction (use a simulation bp without traction for the cab car) must have pantograph control value. It doesn't need to have geo or animation, but the control value needs to be there so that the engine is "ON"".
I seem to have manage to solve it! A mate of mine helped me to get the train moving which I really appreciate his help 8) I did a fair bit of investigation as to why I couldn't get the train to move. So, I exported the non-moving train again into TS and I just couldn't help noticing that there wasn't any .out file being created in the engine folder and I noticed that there was one created in the simulation folder after comparing what would be missing between the train I'm having issues with and the developer example electric loco folders and files. I noticed that the lua files for both the engine script and the simulation script wasn't identical. So, I made both files identical to each other exported into TS and now it works. Despite that example electric loco didn't need me to make the lua files identical it's still a big puzzle. Now, as for getting the pantograph to animate in the sim considering I've animated and exported the ia correctly from blender. I just have no clue how to get it working.. :-? PS: Posted this same information on both UKTS and DTG forums
