General Information 23 Stations in total Runs from Paddington in Central London to Shenfield in Essex and Abbey Wood in South East London. Class 345 EMUs are used on this line 33 Miles Rolling Stock Class 345 Aventra Replacing the ageing Class 314 units, the class 345 has been in passenger service since 2017 Route Map Running from Paddington to Abbey Wood and Shenfield, the route is about 33 miles long. Platform Edge Doors The underground stations of the Elizabeth line feature Platform Edge Doors (PEDs) I am unsure if PEDs are able to be implemented into TSW, if not then all of the stations with PEDs will simply have to have them removed. AI Layers Class 710 - Liverpool Street, Whitechapel, Forest Gate, Romford Class 378 - Stratford, Whitechapel Summary This route would be a great addition to TSW's current TFL collection, featuring the rather new Elizabeth Line route running from Central London to South East London and Essex via the Docklands and City. That brings us to the end of my suggestion, thanks for reading
It would be nice if this also then layered onto the Great Western Express section of the line to Reading, although that would require a modern timetable with the GWR 800s which I doubt will happen especially with the current remaster anyway. Good suggestion though I would love to see it
I'm torn whether to think this would be great or not. On the one hand it's a really transformational railway in the UK in terms of how it's affected London commuting. The new busiest stations in the UK are because of the line. So it's clearly iconic enough to be in the game. On the other hand the tunnel section is completely under ATO (using CBTC) to maximise service frequency with platform screen doors. All the driver does is open and close the doors until out of the tunnels and back under TPWS. There's a good Geoff Marshall video from 2 years ago showing just how little the driver has to do (as long as it works properly) here: So you could have a scenario in game where it fails and the driver has to take over to get out of the tunnel but that wouldn't be a normal service. You would still have the usual modern UK driving outside the tunnels but the Paddington-Reading section in the game would have to be redone compared to GWE which is being remastered. It would be a great layer though for making Stratford busy in the upcoming Mildmay line DLC.
Out of any section of the Elizabeth line I think this would be the most likely section to be added because of licensing with GWR and issues with including Heathrow. However I would want this to come after or be included in some sort of Greater Anglia route to include lots of stock on the fast lines between Liverpool Street and Shenfield. I also think that because the section with ATO is only a few stations I actually wouldn't mind it and it would feel a bit like having to do the power change at Ebsfleet Intl on SEHS. Great suggestion
I'd highly doubt that the reading branch would be added, considering that they are making a remaster of the GWML. But yes, it would be nice to have a long run down to Reading from Shenfield / Abbey Wood.
I would love having the Shenfield to Paddington section at least. Trains terminate at the newly installed lower level and services to Shenfield go via Stratford meaning that this route would offer layering for the upcoming mildmay line at Stratford
I love the suggestion too. ATO seems like a fun experience to me and being able to switch like you said would be really cool and this would be a unique feature for TSW5
It would be a good route to have in TSW5 despite ATO through the core. I often use Autopilot in Flight Simulation especially at cruising altitude, so why not only operate the doors through the middle or (if you like painstakingly lining up the train to the doors at those stations) an option to drive manually. Though if I'm honest. Having such a big section of the GEML through the suburbs will be another GOBLIN release for me. Both DLC would leave me preferring to have the London terminus to Essex National Rail route with far more interesting gameplay opportunities rather than another back and forth TfL service. I think it's unlikely. It's a huge route, it would have to come without the Heathrow section which would be weird, as would cutting out one of the eastern branches because it's such a huge undertaking, unlike terminus to home counties routes (GWR/BML/WCML) Crossrail would need two lots of often dense suburban sprawl to be made for it. Three if you include the Thamesmead branch. It could seriously impact performance.
It would be great if they were to make the route as the Elizabeth line is a revolutionary cross rail route which would be really fun and would offer great variation
