I suggest the Emslandstrecke from Rheine to Emden in 1976. I am aware that DTG ist quite skeptical with Long steam routes but this (maybe) different. First of all the Basics on this Route
Licenses: British Patroleum; DB, VW (Maybe)
    Length: around 140km
    Max Speed: 140km/h
Mostly Double Track with some exeptions
Time to finish this Route: D Trains: 1:30 and Freight Trains something about 2 Hours but Most stop inbetween to let faster Trains pass.
    New Locos: 043 and 220
New Waggons: Fad-50/OOtz, Laae 52(With VW Beetles), Einheits-Kesselwagen (standard tank wagon), (Popwaggons)
Reusable Trains: Niddertal and Mittenwaldbahn Freightwaggons and the Waggons of the 194, Br 363, DBB 218, 111 for Passenger Trains in Rheine.
    Services:
    Passenger:
along the full Route (Br 220):
    11 D Trains
    5 DC Trains
    5 E Trains

    Leer to Emden(DBB Br 218)
    8 D Trains
    2 E Trains

AI Trains from Rheine to Salzbergen(Further to Bad Bentheim with no stop in Salzbergen using the BR 111)
    12 D Trains
    12 E Trains

    Freight:
    Shunting (Br 363):
Fad Waggons from Emden South quay to Emden Freightyard
Laae from VW to Emden Freightyard and the Quay.
BP Einheits-Kesselwagen (standard tank wagon) in Salzbergen refinery and BP Lingen
Harbour of Pappenburg and Meyer Shipyard
    Leer Harbour
    Emden Harbour

    Freighttrains (Br 043):
Falns (loaded) to Emden Harbour from Rheine
Falns (empty) from Emden Harbour to Rheine
Fad (loaded) Emden Freightyard to Rheine
Fad (empty) Rheine to Emden Freightyard
Laae (loaded) Emden Freightyard to Rheine
Laae (empty) Rheine to Emden Freightyard

What´s so Special about this Route?

It offers a mix between semiphore Signals and more modern light signals.
Lots of Harbour action. More than in Aschaffenburg.
The 043 hauls Oretrains with 2000tons. Sometimes 2 of These Train are combined in a 4000 Ton Train with 2x 043. In Rheine the Steamlocos wäre decupled and 2x 140s hauled the Train further to the Saarland. The Ruhr region received the ore via inland waterway vessels. First the Waggons Are loaded in the south quay and then assembled to These 2000tons or 4000tons Trains.
Trains with Coal from the ruhr area were unloaded in the Quay and exported via Ship.
These Trains with 2x 43 or 44s are called langer Heinrich. Here is the Wiki Article.
    https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Langer_Heinrich_(Zug)

Besides the Heavy freighttrains with ore there are a lot of other Freighttrains for the Harbor in Emden or the VW Factory in Emden or the big Shipyard in Pappenburg.

Now the 220. The 220 replaced the 012/1-10 in all passenger Services. From local trains to D-Trains.
One of the really special things on this Route is the Station Lingen. The 2. Plattform was closed in the mid 70s because Passenger Hard to Walk over the Tracks to get to the 2.Platform and it was deemed unsafe. So every Passenger Train Had stop at Platform 1. Most of the D Trains stopped at Lingen. This was kept until 2009. Also some Trains had trolley Cars to Emden Außenhafen. These Trains Stopped at Emden Central Station and a small Chunter brought them to Emden-Außenhafen where the Ferry to various Islands departs.

There are also some really cool places along the Route Like the Bridge in Emden which is singletrack or the dail depot in Rheine.

How to get reference photos or Information?
This is one of the Most documented Steamroutes in Germany. Most of the Signaling is the same and of Not the old Signal Boxes are still there.

This is a Video of the year 1975 with the 012 still active.
Most of the Infrastructure is still there and sometimes you can guess where the old tracks were.

These Are all the Signal boxes on the Route. Sadly this also includes the Part between Hamm and Rheine and also between Emden and Norddeich Mole.

For the 220 i Don´t know fitting Passenger Waggons with TSG having the byg, Bn and ABn Waggons and the ABm and Bm Waggons. Maybe the 70s Pop Waggons??

I took the RE15 yesterday before i wrote this Suggestion to convince me that it,s Not that Bad of an Idea.

I´d love to See some Suggestions for the 220 passenger Waggons.

A real timetable for a 4,000-tonne train with two 044 locomotives (The 043 with Coal and not Oil). Although the 044 had a maximum speed of 80 km/h, the ore bombers only travelled at 65 km/h to protect the old steam locomotives.
