Hi, I’m driving the DB BR 612 on Tharandter Rampe. I’m playing on PS5 and driving service RE3 3465/3797 Nürnberg Hbf-Dresden Hbf. I’m noticing something weird with the engine sounds on the DB BR 612. Sometimes they just dissapear or become really quiet. I’m sure it wasn’t like this the last time I played it. It’s extremely prominent when departing a station. The engine sounds are normal from the outside though (the issue is when inside the cab). The sounds are normal when having the throttle handle in OFF, but when I start increasing the power they dissapear. They then become normal at 80% power again. It’s the same issue when decreasing the power. Between 10% power and 80% its just quiet. Also, when you use the train brake it gets quiet. It really ruins the experience because it’s kinda unrealistic that an engine is louder when idling than when increasing power. It really becomes quieter when it should become louder. Can anyone please fix this, because it wasn’t like this a couple of weeks ago.
I have found an workaround, that usually fixes these kind of sound issues, and on my end it also fixes the DB BR 612. Switch to external free camera view (8 button) Move far far away from the loco, so the train gets unloaded Switch back to the cab. If you see a brief loading screen, then you were far away, and the train was reloaded. Sound should work ok now.
