    Is there a way to set just the foliage.LOD value for each route individually? For Berina I would like less than 3, but for all other routes I would like 4 or more.

    Sure you can just edit it in each of the route .ini files within godmode. Did you take a look in the manual? Everything is explained in it.

    As TKessel pointes out, it tells you in the manual how to do it. I would add a note of caution though, my presets for Bernina Line all have the foliageLOD set to 1 already. All the others have both the foliageLOD and foliage.ditheredLOD set to 3 on Ultra. There is absolutely no point setting it any higher as it will make no difference to the visuals but will harm your performance significantly.

    By all means do whatever you want, but with that one you’ll be wasting your time.

    Thank you for the feedback. :)

    I had to read up completely first because I have never used or installed God mode.

    For me it is/was actually only important that the plopping of the trees is reduced. The problem with the Berina line was that you couldn't leave the value "3" as it was because it was too performance-consuming. The dynamic INI files are really worth it.

    Thanks to the "dynamic Ini" I now have this value at 3 on all routes, except for Berina line 1.

    This is a very good thing. So thank you again for all the effort that went into the God mod and the information. :)

    Yes, as per the post linked below. I’ve put an awful lot of time into what will be v4, the last .sav version. I’ve had a number of people help test it over the last couple of weeks and we’re getting there slowly. I’ve literally poured tens, if not hundreds, of hours into this mod due to the sheer size of the data involved now and I’ve had enough of it to be honest! Because of that this time I won’t put it out until I’m 100% happy :) It is exceptionally time consuming to do and once this version is done I don’t want to have to update the main body of it again (which I’m sure you can understand).

    ps I’m happy to upload a text version of the Ultra preset for WSR tomorrow if it helps. It’s WIP and I don’t have the time to make High, Medium or Low presets but at least it would be something.

    Hi, without any accompanying text it’s impossible to interpret what you’re saying here, but if the implication is that it’s too dark I completely agree. The default ToDv3 lighting fudge within TSW4 is a bit of a state and I’ve spent a lot of time trying to find a solution to make it brighter without breaking the lighting completely. I believe I’ve finally done so but it will, of course, now need testing across all the routes.

    Query: as a stopgap for those of us who can't run ultra settings, which route's dynamic .ini setup works best with the revised WSR? I've tried ECML and Blackpool, and it's still too washed out.

    I’m hoping to put the final version of the .sav method out in the next couple of days. I think it’s very nearly there.

    For now you can just copy the lighting bits and append them to a workable performance preset. Select everything from the first TimeOfDaySystem.* entry down to, and including, the r.SkylightIntensityMultiplier= and that should work.

    Morning all, After a heck of a lot of work I'm happy to say I've just uploaded v4.0 to TSC

    As stated previously this will be the last version of the GodMode.sav method and going forward any new routes will be updated through the same page, but in text only format only for you to copy and paste into GodMode.

    I've said this everywhere I can think of but it is again here for completeness. There is an issue with the latest version of GodMode that was causing a specific command not to hook correctly. To get around this this command MUST be put in the main engine.ini file so please read pages 6 & 7 of the manual

    v4.0

    • The last GodMode.sav version - I have removed the 'High' pre-set as it no longer served a purpose with the reduction in shadow resolution values in Ultra
    • Many changes to all ToDv3 and ToDv4 routes that are almost too numerous to mention. The overriding philosophy was to make the lighting as natural as possible, reduce the prevalence of overly dark and overly light scenes, improve performance (where possible) and add some new features which significantly improve the look of the sky. With the Ultra pre-set you should now notice clouds moving and shape shifting throughout the day, particularly in windy weather
    • Changed the ambient occlusion method across all routes from SSAO (Screen Space Ambient Occlusion) to GTAO (Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion) which some of you might recognise from TSW2 engine.ini's. It is more accurate and produces a more realistic scene
    • Significant changes to the night skies which are now all individually tuned, taking into account the type of route. In a more urban environment stars will be less visible than they are on a more countryside based route
    • Removed Passenger spawning behaviours from most ToDv4 routes as it is not needed and causes some strange effects at times
    • Updated the final version of the manual
    • Removed the ‘Included Pre-Sets’ into a separate PDF to allow it to be updated going forward

    Just installed this onto my new PC which is capable of running Ultra settings. I ran the 1C20 HST Service in Midland Mainline. It looked absolutely stunning. The best I've seen TSW look. Running along in one of my favourite trains at sunrise with everything maxed out for the first time was absolutely brilliant. I may moan a lot about the way DTG do things, but with mods like this, it is a fantastic game.

    I think DTG needs to hire you. You seem to be able to do way more than they can. Not bashing them but still. The game would look totally bland without your mod

    Thanks a lot for your great work - it's highly appreciated even though I'm quite new to using it. After coming back to the sim because it now can be used in VR, I thought I'd give mods a try to get the best out of it - and yours is just amazing!

    with some work this works in TSW 2 and 3 too
    just make sure it has latest godmode.pak
    and remove the conflicting lines from engine.ini

    If you look at where the settings are on other routes (as per the manual) and copy and paste them there you’ll be just fine.

    Thought I’d ask here first. Has today’s update broken God Mode? I can’t seem to access it anymore.

    Tried with Great Western and Midland Mainline.

    Fortunately I didn’t install on my main PC yet.

    Edit : Confirmed as not working on TSC Discord.

    Sounds like a lot is broken again, including LM's signal visuals. The gift that keeps on giving huh? Just leave them alone DTG, we have a workaround that works. It ain't broken, stop trying to fix it!

    no we don't. we wait until DTG pulls back the mod part of the update once again because just like last time only that made mods like godmode work again.

    What a shame! After all the trouble you went through with this and is was looking so great! Sometimes I wonder if they're trying to spite you or something, because right after you do a major mod update? Boom! Here comes DTG doing an update, and we're back to square one

    That’s good news. Hopefully I’ve managed to block steam updates until it’s working again.

    I was enjoying Midland Mainline so much last night with your ini changes.

    Fortunately I tried the update on my old PC first.

    ps If you want to stop Steam auto-updating just set it to update between 1am and 2am (or later if you're a night owl) then you'll have manual control over it. I've not had an auto update since this happened last time.

    that last time all the mods did not work now almost all of em still work

    i believe you. the modders in train sim world 4 so far are pretty decent and innovative people. I've not run into the toxiticy and arrogance I've seen among modders in other games
