I never knew that fact. Was that after TSW2? That shows that the routes are not appealing to people. It appears as if DTG are getting arrogant and think that they can pass with rubbish routes that are not even the full length. I still fell for it and bought TSW4. I am excited for Goblin line and hope that changes things

I think some clarification is needed. I believe the Focus Entertainment Group`s profit fell by that amount, not DTG`s.
Depending on how many entities there are within the group, it's can be difficult to identify the "Culprit".
It's also not rare for a group to have a bad year, for various reasons, Internal and external.

According to Pushup (formerly known as Focus' literature) they refer to the Award winning Train Sim World? Really? When?

Surely Focus would have anticipated English language speakers poking fun at the new name. At least someone from DTG would have had a quiet word?

I'd love to know how they came up with that moniker.

Or is some wag having us all on?

And I interpret the " steady release of new content " as " more of the same " .
    More Glossops and Goblins?

Unless there is some startling new development in the upcoming Roadmap, my eyes will keep wandering, looking for a more promising alternative to TSW.

You do realise most full length routes would appeal even less, right?

Especially routes such as ECML which are nearly 400 miles long (not including branches).

I agree I think DTG need to find a balance. I feel like they think we want full mainlines. But no, I cant speak for everyone but I feel like we want a decently long route with a logical start and end point that includes all the short branchlines just to spice it up a little.

I'm all for short routes if necessary, but only if the chosen route is short in real life. Then again, I'd rather it be part of a bigger route to, for want of a better word, spice things up a bit.

My main take from this is the news we are getting a sequel to Snowrunner/Mudrunner. Very little DTG could offer in TSW without a major sock PulluP (ho, ho) that would distract from that.

Well if the so-called "Festival of rail" deliver some good contents they will probably. But we all saw what happened last year especially with US content. And now an US route is probably going to be annouced at this event... Fingers crossed for a good one :D but yeah let's see...

Maybe (and this is probably not going to happen), just maybe, we will see better quality content in TSW because of this.

    Wishful thinking obviously.

I hope so, I have EXTREMELY high expectations for Goblin as its such a short route with 1 train they need to get it right the first time.

A little birdy (a very small, invisible and fictional one) told me they're also adding the TGV Reseau, Class 02, Class 117, Up The Junction, Phorum Peninsula and all IHH content back to Steam too...

Fair enough but first I had heard of it.

Quite expensive looking on Steam, £35 for the base game, £55 if you want the Year One pass bundled with it. So I'll probably wait until later in the year to take the plunge.

I'm still awaiting to read something about Union Workshop's development. For now, I'm putting away updating to TSW4 back again till TSW Humble/Fanatical Bundle, even if the WSR update that I'm also awaiting comes really soon.

Well, a couple of workshop routes I subscribed require it and RWP version of the route didn't solve the problem, so I'd welcome it back in the Steam store...

Given the lack of accessible toilets in TSW, this may be considered a masterstroke as it would save a lot of modelling time.

I'll be honest, I'm bored already. The 'jokes' are lame. Who really cares what the company is called? Judging by the bluster in here, isn't the current name far too ironic for comfort anyway?

Maybe so, but at the end of the day if we had a great game full of great experiences to talk about then neither this thread nor those comments would exist. Irony....it's a funny old thing!

Just a theory, but I think "PulluP" might sound weird, childish or funny when pronounced in English. But ..... nononono .... when pronounced in French it becomes a linguistic gem.

    More like

    "Puilluipe" upload_2024-1-25_12-42-2.png

a word to be shaped with flute lips. Try it out and you'll not be disappointed. ;)

So what the heck, the parent company's shareholders chose a silly but fitting name as the company prevented a crash in the last minute, and are still in the air though using max flaps. So be it then.

What I'm angry about is that the promised fix for the HST wipers, which was presented as "High Priority" in the November Roadmap, is now officially "not on their immediate list".

A simple change of a texture is too much for them. On top of that, proven to be blatantly lying to the customers who are paying their bills.

And the Executive Producer remains silent, sending his poor CMs to post excuses that no one's buying any more.

    Enough is enough!

You know, resignation is usually seen as a weakness. But it can be a powerful psychological ally when it comes to protect your own sanity. DTG was on its way to drive me crazy. And that's where I draw a red line and just .......... resigned.

This hobby is supposed to be fun to enjoy, not a source for frustration and angriness.

I've stated months ago that "there's no point to chase DTG for state- or commitments simply because their credibility is long gone. Whatever explanation they come up with, it's just worthless. I wouldn't believe them anyway, not without crosschecking with other sources, if at all."

In a nutshell: Don't chase DTG for explanations, they've lost control over their bit of software long ago. There's enough evidence on this board and elsewhere.

    And Life's good again. :)

Although I baulked slightly at £35 for the new Mudrunner game, when you compare the hours of fun that will give compared to £30 for a mediocre TSW DLC, it doesn’t seem so bad. And having just taken advantage of the 35% discount currently on the Soviet Workers and Resources game, I find myself getting deeper and deeper into that. Fantastic value for just over £22.

Exactly my feelings. TSW is a victim of its own complexity and lava flow design. Don't expect route variety as in TSC (too costly), don't expect bugfixes (no time for that). But expect more things to be broken. There's resignation on both sides now, on DTG's too. They can't be bothered to fix the stuff that gets reported, not even the simplest of things. Some sort of fatalism on DTG's side concerning TSW.

Do you think that dovetail pay attention to the forums? I am pretty sure that the routes featured on TSW4 were not reccomended by anyone. In all fairness some people enjoy the routes but I am assuming they were barely anyone's top priority.

The forums are the least important place, according to Alex only 17%. Main communication is on Discord, X and the likes.

The point Pipe has made is spot on. Most of what's being said in here is irrelevant. Posting bug report videos, trying to support them in fixing, even announced fix priorities. It's all talk and no action. TSW is 90% PR and 10% software engineering.

Then you have superb simulators like Zusi or SimRail, being 0% PR and 100% software engineering and railroad knowledge. Epic's UE engine can't save badly made content.
