I had a slight problem with a spad approaching Ditton Jcn. I didn't notice until I was literally on top of it. I was too busy watching the freight train I was catching up to. Unfortunately it was the freight train that I should have been stopping for. This was in my 8 hour Liverpool Crewe stream on Friday. Unfortunately I managed to write off two 8f's and another Jubilee in incidents through out the day as well. 1 x 8F was at Runcorn when I went to slow down to stop. First Service of the day 1 x 8F was going into Ditton yard? where it fell over (see video below) https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxuB6w0smfwX9KdFX1iabs73bVRM3V6mKU 1 x 8F was on the turntable at Liverpool Lime street Below was at Ditton JCn where I spadded Just goes to show that as well as paying attention to the oncoming signals, no aws , still getting used to the route and chatting in a livestream accidents still happen. Apart from the chatting in the livestream, its amazing there were not loads more serious derailments due to no speedo's, AWS and lack of route knowledge. Regards Hentis
Me too, in different circumstances, and several other people as well. I am beginning to believe that there is a missing distant signal, since there is NO warning between Runcorn and Ditton that there is a signal at danger.
There's also no Speed boards? or Whistle boards, didnt they have any back in the day on the route? Have added the video of when the 8F fell over. hentis
In reality i believe with good eyesight you would have been able to see this signal from afar, but in game the fidelity and load distance isn't good enough to be able to see it.
I was watching a gameplay video earlier and the player commented on the lack of speed signs. I'm sure they would have existed back then at least to mark the start of a speed restriction if not when a higher speed could be resumed. So is this another omission from the route or a historical fact?
