    I've owned TSW2 on PC for about 3 weeks.

    Upon clicking the big green 'play' button on Steam, three times I have had a pop-up appear that says:
    Couldn't start <PATH>TS2Prototype-Win64-Shipping.exe TS2 Prototype. CreateProcess() returned 2.
    (And where I've put <PATH>, the error displays the full path to the executable)

    To fix this, every time I have to:
    1) Revalidate local files in Steam.
    2) Steam says one file failed to validate, and starts a 223MB download.
    3) Once download complete, a 'Disk Write Error' occurs in Steam.
    4) Reboot PC.
    5) Restart Steam, resume the download and wait for it to complete.

    Then TSW2 launches and runs fine.

    I've searched the forum for 'CreateProcess() returned 2' and it didn't find anything, suggesting that this isn't a common error.

    Any thoughts on what's causing this please? If it's relevant, I always run Steam as administrator.

    Yours sounds like the same problem, although as you say, yours is TSW2020 and mine is TSW2.

    Yes, I can write to the directory with the TSW2 executable.

    richy, check your anti virius and see if the file is in quarantine, my anti virus was putting the file in quarantine (avast), I've added the file to the exceptions list and hopefully that'll be the end of the problems!

    Worth a try - thanks! I've created an AV exception for the TSW2 folder. I'll see if that makes any difference over the next few weeks.
