I have noticed that the 373 Eurostar has somehow been allowed to be put into Train Simulator 2022 on PC. I find it very exciting, but my puzzlement is, “If the Eurostar has been added to Train Simulator 2022, then why can’t it be added into Train Sim World 2?” I mean if it were to be in Train Sim World 2, it could work on LGV Méditerranée and Southeastern High Speed, e.g., London St Pancras International to Ebbsfleet International. Ebbsfleet International to London St Pancras International Marseille to London St Pancras International, as far as Avignon TGV, via Aix-en-Provence TGV. London St Pancras International to Marseille St Charles, from Avignon TGV, via Aix-en-Provence TGV
The class 373 is being made by a third party developer. It's not a offical dtg product nor does dtg have the Eurostar license. It's bascially a mod
Because of open file architecture on PC there's nothing much people can do about what people do on PC. The editor for TS1 has also been out for years...
Oh okay. So it is an add-on, but not made by DTG. That explains everything, thanks. However, still it would we nice to have the 373 e300 Eurostar in TSW2. I know there is a very low chance, but who knows it may come.
At the moment it's a zero chance simply because Eurostar don't license their stuff, but who knows what may come in future. SNCF is already in game so a Thalys route might be possible in future...
Maybe Ebbsfleet - Calais could be made as a Eurostar route . That’s 120KM , which with time , would be possible . It could also be joined to SEHS to drive from Calais - St Pancras
Good suggestion. Besides London St Pancras International to Calais Frethun is about 55 minutes by 373 Eurostar of 152km (94 miles). But how can I express this idea as a very good suggestion, I don’t know how?
But this would call at Ashford int then the rest of the journey in pitch black??? Maybe St Pancras to Ashford or Calais to Paris gare du Nord or Brussels would be better!!
Agreed. London St Pancras International to Paris Gare Du Nord/Brussels Midi would be a lot better, especially with the 373 e300 Eurostar
It wouldn’t work on the SEHS anyway as the High Speed platforms are not accessible so a revamp of the route would be needed.
This to me says you know little of the route. From Ebsfleet to Ashford there is one major tunnel (just south of Chatham) and then the line is above ground all the way to Ashford, and again to Folkestone where the line passes the Eurotunnel facility and then goes into the tunnel for 23 miles before coming out in France So there would be 40-50 miles of line above ground, then 20 something in tunnel and however long to Calais
Channel Tunnel is 30 mi 50 km with TVM-430 VACMA. The new feature is Lorries & Cars on Trains which can then be given to OBB routes that have Rola and Laaers 560s Nightjet trains if DTG doesn't want the longer DDm 915. Tauernbahn can be used for it due to EN464 Zurichsee carrying the motorail train Graz/Villach-Feldkirch. Also the lorry train Salzburg-Trieste via Tauernbahn with Ebsfleet Lille being the protoype of motorail & lorries on trains
No, it is not possible. DTG does not have the license, even if it does they cannot implement a very long route as well. It will be very tiring in my opinion. You can't maintain a certain speed until the channel tunnel comes in. And also. How can DTG even know what the tunnel looks like? That is the exact question which is not really clear. I really like your idea but it is a fail I am sorry.
Loads of vids and pics online about how it was built, walking tours, "inside the tunnel" TV programs and if DTG could manage it the tunnel is about and hour's drive from their office and Eurotunnel do have occasional walks and marathons through there (and maybe would even offer to give them a tour)
I can see that. I am not an idiot. But the problem is that even Dovetail games have a long drive from their HQ. Plus, as of now, the Eurotunnel is under authorized access which means that DTG has to pick up a train requesting Eurostar and then see the tunnel overall.
I live a mile from DTG HQ. I could be at the tunnel in about an hour (depending on if the M20 has any roadworks) It's NOT a long drive Well they could also take Le Shuttle and a torch but yeah...
For Le Shuttle it requires a process to load cars and lorries. Then that method is used to load/unload Laaers 560s at Düsseldorf Hbf platforms 19 & 20 and Saadkms lorry waggons at Regensburg Wörgl Salzburg Hbf.
I know used to use the shuttle to go to Carrefore in Callais and then up to Belgium for cheap cigarettes years back. It was £35 return if you went there and back within a few hours. Now it's £200 return!
