Ok, I'm gonna be honest here. The weather system in this game is phenomenal. I love the way the different weather conditions drastically change how the game looks (what with the rainstorms and snowy surfaces, just absolutely beautiful.) and now how the trains perform with the new Adhesion System. As a little bit of a suggestion, I came up some things off the top of my noggin that in my opinion would make the weather look even cooler in game, enhance customization, and create more vibrant diversity. 1. The ability to change visibility. Currently the only way to change visibility is to either use a preset, like "Summer Fog" for example, or dump a heavy amount of rain or snow onto the route. Adding a "fogginess" or "visibility" slider individually would allow players to more easily create a low visibility setting tuned to their liking. Maybe one player wants only a little bit of fog, while another wants to not be able to see anything 4 feet in front of their train. (I wouldn't because that would scare me but hey you do you.) 2. Lighting and thunder effects. Something that I would love to see in game is the ability to add lightning flashes and thunder sounds. It would make driving in a heavy rainstorm feel all the more exciting and really spice things up. adding a slider to change how frequent and severe the lightning is would also help again with customization. Adding higher wind speeds would also look pretty nice. Currently the wind speeds are pretty good, but adding a gale force type wind speed would also give that "heavy rainstorm" feel to it. 3. The ability to save custom weather filters. The presets are nice and all, But I think it would allow for easier access for players to be able to save their custom weather presets. That way if people want their weather to be tuned to a particular taste, instead of having to go back and reset it every time, they can just load in a saved preset and off they go, saving a lot of time and just making it more quality of life.
Dynamic weather or something simulating the RL weather. Basic stuff would be awesome, nothing fancy needed in my opinion. Thou it would probably need a massive update that can't be done at the moment (nor do I wish devs to drop their stuff and focus on weather right now) but maybe due course.
