Hello All! Today I am going to be writing about a suggestion on an Expert Edition of one of the Oldest BR locos in the game. The Class 45. The Class 45 seems to be a very forgotten loco in the game at the moment, it was released for Northern Transpennine, then just left in the dust. However, with this Suggestion, I will write on how to breathe this cool locomotive back to life. Lets Start with the Obvious New Features. - All New Locomotive Sounds and Physics, Updated to TSW5 Standards. - Four Different Variants - Updated Smoke Effects - New Suspension - New Peak Forest Timetable for one of the Variants VARIANT 1 - Standard The Standard Headlight Variant of the Class 45 - Usable on Northern Transpennine and any other BR Era Content which layers it in, features updated sounds and physics, with suspension and updated smoke effects. VARIANT 2 - Domino Headlight The Domino Headlight Version of the Class 45.- Usable on Northern Transpennine and any other BR Era Content - Features updated sounds and Physics - with suspension and updated smoke effects VARIANT 3 - Box Code Headlights The Box Code Headlight Version of the Class 45, Usable on Northern Transpennine and any other BR Era Content - Features Updated Sounds and Physics - with Suspension and Updated Smoke Effects. VARIANT 4 (LIVERY 2) - BR Green Class 45 The BR Green Version of the BR Class 45, Usable Exclusively on Peak Forest - for a new Diesel timetable. (maybe paired with the 104, when it releases) - Features Updated Sounds, Physics, and Smoke Effects. with new suspension. NAMEPLATES: in total, throughout the class 45s life, 26 BR Blue Variants were Nameplated. Couple of Examples here; 45040 is "The Kings Shropshire Light Infantry" 45041 and 45053 Were Both Named "Royal Tank Regiment" 45548 was Named "Lytham St. Annes" COLD STARTING (FEATURE) Cold starting will be a 40% Chance of occurring during Winter Weather Cold Starting will definitely be adding more realistic ways to play for BR Era Fans. and adds a fair bit of variety ENGINE ROOM (FEATURE) Much like the Expert DB 101, and Perhaps the BR Class 87 From Just Trains, this loco will also feature an engine room that is explorable. OTHER ADDITIONS / INFO: In Addition to The Expert Class 45 being Added to Northern Transpennine, it would be a miss not to give the route updated TOD4 lighting. Additional Scenarios could be added to Northern Transpennine and Peak Forest, for more gameplay. The Expert Class 45 could be Layered onto Other BR Era Routes, such as Blackpool Branches, Preston Carlisle and West Cornwall Local Thank you all for Reading this Suggestion, this Suggestion is one i have been wanting to do for a while, becuase i think the class 45, and other older BR Era Locos Deserve some love. Cheers!
Perhaps they could simultaneously do the Class 44 and 46 peaks for more variety and little extra work. So much development time and money could be saved if similar types were created in parallel. The current way of doing things is wasteful and leaves us as players with less variety to boot.
I'd really love an expert version of the Class 45. Or just a Class 45 update. I'm American and I love American trains, but driving that thing on NTP is what made me hyped when new UK DLC comes out.
While not generally a fan of “Expert” stuff, I would support this. That said some of the BR Classic diesels in the game already require a bit of work to get going, in terms of selecting the correct brake type and manipulating the change end and AWS switches.
