IMG_6617.jpeg With use of original model of Vectron, DTG or TSG could make dual-mode Vectron, Expert version DB BR 249  with some scenarios where you drive on electrified mainline, and then finishing last-mile logistics with diesel engine. With enhanced both physics and controls just like upcomming BR 101 with it’s expert mode. I think it would be very interesting to have dual mode locomotive in game, and it may not be too hard/time comsumpting to just upgrade existing BR 193 model to Expert mode DB BR 249.

With the upcomming release of BR 101 Expert and knowing it’s functions, the more reasons to bring Expert BR 249 Dual mode Vectron DLC arise. TSG can use most of already implemented mechanics used in BR 101 Expert DLC like brake percentage input, GSMR, etc. One big difference is that this locomotive will be used on freight services, in opposite to existing IC loco BR 101 Expert DLC. And of course, the switching of two powerdrives in reallife-like expert mode could be interesting as well.

Summary of main reasons to bring BR 249 as next Expert DLC:
:cool:Well made train model already exists (Vectron) it just needs some minor changes to transform into Baureihe 249
    :oFirst freight expert loco
;)Expert functions already exists on BR 101 Expert that can be implemented here too
:DThis loco can be used both on electrified and non-electrified routes (some of next DE route can be suitable? Or adding non-electrified branch/yard to existing route, maybe local acknowledged German players might bring an idea to suitiable route)
:oFirst (half)diesel Expert loco which may bring group of new diesel-specific faults and errors to take care of

So, what do you think, cwf.green , Raph' , chirimu ? (users I suppose are part of TSG team)

I think they’ll do this when the ICE L Comes out because then you can have One for cargo and another one For the ICE L, maybe on the Marschbahn or Geislinger Steige.
