I’m trying to run the F40 on Peninsula Corridor… TSW2 PS5… I have no issues with the F40 in Boston Sprinter but the Caltrain one seems to be wonky for braking… maybe I’m doing something wrong but here is what I do: 1. Approaching station, engine idle and use dynamic brakes to bring it down to a reasonable speed. 2. Getting closer to the stopping area, use the service brake to decrease speed to 0. Using service application (NOT emergency). This seems to work great for stopping me where I want to but the problem is basically as soon as my speed hits 0, the PCS light comes on and I can’t get going again until I do a stupid reset of that. Doing this at every station makes it impossible to keep the schedule. Am I doing something wrong in my braking? Or is this a bug?
Well I guess this was a n00b moment for me… with a little help from YouTube I’ve learned how to properly brake the Caltrain F40. My mistake was trying to operate the Caltrain F40PH-2 in the same manner that I was operating the MBTA F40PH-3. Because they actually have very different braking systems (self lapping vs manual lapping) and I ignored the tutorial, I was just doing it all wrong . Figured out how the system works, but it will take a lot of practice to actually stop where I want it to, lol.
Glad you found the answer to your problem. I have not played much North American stuff and do not own the DLC you are talking about. I am now in my 60's and still learning something new every day
