F7 Question

    I haven’t drove this in a while and forgot

    but when switching between series parallel and breaking is reverser neutral required ?

    No, as Dynamic Braking should not work in Neutral.

    However, you must let the amps run down to 0 before engaging the dynamic brake! Newer locos have circuit protections , but these old girls do not like having live current reversed. Tends to make noise, smoke, sparks and, on a bad day, flames.

    (As a general rule, at least on US engines, you should never put the reverser in neutral while in motion)
