Has anybody else experienced a bug with random trees on the Blackpool Branches, WCML Preston to Carlisle, or any other routes falling over and glitching through the ground lately?

Multiple times today, I've been running timetable services and random trees along the routes will fall over and glitch out of existence as the train gets close and passes them. The glitch happens so randomly, and so fast, that it has been impossible to capture a screen shot or any video footage so far.

It just happened to me again on a class 142 timetable when leaving Blackpool South, on Blackpool Branches (trees on the right side opposite the station platform).

Has anybody else noticed this bug, or am I just going crazy?

    You are not imagining it!

I too have seen this on the Preston - Carlisle route. It is strange and looks like trees in the distance are being felled by a giant scythe. Sometimes a group of trees sway around together tilting to about 45° doing what seems like a bizarre dance!

It looks weird but hasn't affected the train I was driving. It is quite random and I have not been able to replicate it though in all honesty I haven't put in much effort trying.

I am glad someone else has commented on this as I became convinced it was just an error in my TSW installation.

Thanks for the reply, and for saving my sanity. :)

I wonder what could be causing this strange glitch?

I’ve seen trees bending all the way down towards the ground and then straightening back up again and repeating this on a loop. I first encountered it on Clinchfield about 18 months ago but have seen it quite a few times on the Just Trains routes. Getting closer to the trees stop them doing it. It’s very odd.

it been an issue since i first got BPO and think i have noticed it on Shap. I'm not 100% on this but it may be something to do with the weather settings and the wind

Yeah I've seen them. There's some bushes that do the same thing near east Croydon on bml when it's windy.

Speaking of BML, here what happened to the houses near East Croydon, when they’re a certain distance from the players viewpoint/camera/pov. Don’t know if they’re connected with this falling trees bug.

Some people just get carried away with their Christmas lights, don't they?

ive just had 2 quick runs on BPO from Ormskirk one in clear weather high wind in april and one in a snow storm in jan and didn't notice any today in areas where i have seen them in the past. may be worth it to note the weather, time of year etc and drop it in the feed back thread. as it stands now it dose seem very random

I might just add that when I see the bowing trees it isn’t because of a high wind setting as I always play with the wind speed set to zero. I don’t see it often either, just a few times. It always seems to happen when I’m stationary rather than when I’m moving but it might be that I’m more likely to notice it if I’m sat in a siding for ten minutes and looking around with an external camera than if I’m whizzing past in cab view so it could be happening more often and I just don’t see it.

I've just completed a run from Blackpool North to Preston in the Pacer.

No fallen trees on the tracks from what I saw.

You’re going crazy! Never once seen a falling tree, unless DTG added tornados to the weather settings recently?

The route's called Blackpool Branches. You're asking for trouble.

They don't fall and lay on the tracks from what I've seen. Just bend around like a rubber tree.

Every time I see it happen, it reminds me of these

I did screenshot it happening not long ago. Will see if I can find it later.

Now I know this is, again, a bit off topic, but here’s the advantages of LED lighting for you.

A sign that GWE really does need this remaster. Again certain objects (benches) would ‘bug out’ when a certain distance from the players pov.

DTG are aware, but the problem has them stumped.

However, a fix really wood be good.

I did a run on Blackpool branches and noticed the problem a couple of times on my way to Ormskirk. The trees only seem to do it in their pre rendered state. Once you get close enough and the trees become fully rendered, it stops.

You're probably right, best to stick on topic, before we branch off further away from it. Although the puns were just being to blossom.
