i have been trying to recreate a timetable on WCML South, with more to do in other parts of the route and i am already struggling with so many issues and I cant in the life of me solve them.
I have did my best abilties to recreate all the timings between Euston and Rugby according to real time trains, but some god forsaken reason its usually thanks to a red signal not changing. Resulting one of my train (2k02) having to leave watford early with its door still open and just stuck infront of the red signal.

another train with the same issue where 1H04 stucks at a red signal where the section in front is completely empty, resulting it being completely delayed, its behind a player train by the way, at the time it was suppose to pass me, it was still at hamel hemtsped for some reason.

I am so tired of encountering the red signal bug where it should've let the ai move but it didnt because for some reason it just felt like it didnt, i dont get what am i doing wrong or is it the game's fault.

The game is more than capable. AI programming most likely requires a few tricks up your sleeve like a phantom blocker etc

what do you mean by that? adding some sort of blocker engine? dont think that fixes much

JT, AP and presumably other developers have invisible or blocker engines that you could set up to fix some issues with the timetable. Because I don't know exactly what's going wrong with the timetable I can't make exact suggestions.

You're probably already doing it, but make sure the AI trains have their priority levels set up properly. If you want to be a bit naughty you could also give them incorrect priorities on purpose if you really need one train to go ahead of another, for example.

The timetable editor is quite manic sometimes. I've had scenarios that just stop working for no reason when I have too many trains that the game just doesn't know what to do with. Make backups just in case. And also restart the game every once in a while; it can often fix some issues with the timetable.

Another thing. Unless your intention is to create a Timetabled scenario one way or another - where you can drive several of the trains, either as replay or different standard scenarios - most usually authors just place trains around the player. It serves the illusion of a busy mainline without making it too complicated to tie all loose ends.

yea thats what i am doing, just traffic that goes the opposite direction.

Okay with this, i think i fixed one of the problem that was occuring in Watford junction, i think.
There was a 2k02 and a 2M09 encounter at watford where 2k02 is suppose to leave on time but was stuck due to 2M09 somehow approaching it too fast despite logically it should've enough time to leave. I changed 2k02 from stopping passenger to express and it fixed the signal stuck issue. At least i think anyway because i viewed it through the play function in world editor mode. Havent tried to see was that working in drive, cant get to watford because TSC keeps saying OUT OF MEMORY despite i have 32 GBs of ram somehow it wasnt enough to load 40 trains...

I found that the dispatcher is very aggressive about priorities, unlike real life.
Couple years ago I've set up a mini scenario where two trains would leave Peterborough towards London. The stopper would go ahead, and the express would catch up. Ideally some restrictive signals, too! There is a two track segment, and if the stopper didn't leave the last block in time, the express would take priority, sidelining the stopper for minutes at the entrance of the two track segment.
Logically you could play with a lot of timetabled Go Via instructions or percentages, instructing the dispatcher to slow the express a bit.

So if your 2k02 was just a tad bit slow and holding back 2M09, that wouldn't be accepted.

oh and guess what the error is "UNKNOWN ERROR"

[edit] for some reason i had to change the priorities of 2k05 and then it somehow works... how and what
