I believe these 2 routes combined would be a good choice for a Queensland Rail route set in the 1980s. This (if made properly) would have a good mix of passenger, freight, and shunting. Ferny Grove - Ipswich route length would be about 55.59km (34.54 mi). Pinkenba - Roma Street route length would be about 15.28 km (9.49 mi). The combined total with the removal of the common track is about 67.12 km (41.70 mi). Additional services could include bringing and taking locomotives out of service, at both North Ipswich Workshops as well as Redbank Workshops. The EMUs were housed on Mayne Yard next to Bowen Hills. There may been some freight services on the section between Ipswich and Pinkenba. There are also some docks just south of Doomben station though I don't know if they were in use at this time. Backdating Google Maps there appears to be a few yards along this route though I am not sure how they worked with each other and how many of them were in use. The base route should include (Must have) EMU 2000 class 1720 class (EMD) SX carriages (If made it would be nice to include these if not then these would be my top pick for DLC) 1620 (EE) 1502 (EMD) DH class (Possible DLC) 1270 (EE) 1460 (EMD) 1550 (EMD) 2470 (EMD) This link has records of old wagon types, https://www.archivessearch.qld.gov.au/series/S21255 Locomotives 1620 class (Passenger only) Prime mover: English Electric 6CSRKT total produced: 34 1502 class (Passenger and Freight) Prime mover: Electro-Motive Diesel 645E total produced: 29 1170 class (Freight and maybe as shunters) Prime mover: Cooper Bessemer FWL6T total produced: 12 1270 class (Freight) Prime mover: English Electric 12SVT Mk II total produced: 30 1400/ 1450 class (Freight) Prime mover: EMD 12-567C total produced: 13 (1400), 10 (1450) 1460 class (Freight) Prime mover: Electro-Motive Diesel 567C total produced: 18 1550 class (Freight and maybe passenger as well) Prime mover: Electro-Motive Diesel 645E total produced: 25 2400/ 2450/ 2470 class (Freight and Maybe passenger as well) Prime mover: EMD 12-645E total produced: 24 (2400), 17 (2450), 38 (2470) 1720 class (Passenger, freight and shunting) Prime mover: Electro-Motive Diesel 645E total produced: 56 DH class (Shunting and short-distance freight) Prime mover: Caterpillar D355E total produced: 73 Rail motors, EMUs, Passenger stock 1800 class (appears all were retired by 1985) Prime mover: Gardner 6L3 diesel total produced: 24 (12 railmotors and 12 trailer passengers) 2000 class Prime mover: 150 hp (110 kW) Rolls-Royce total produced: 42 EMU Traction Motors: 8 × 135 kW (181 hp) separately excited DC motor (except 60-79, Which only had one driving cab and six powered axels instead of 8) total produced: 264 cars (88 sets) SX carriages
