The Class 180 Adelante in FGW Livery for Great Western Express Services from London to the Cotswolds but as far as Reading
As GWE is set in 2015 in TSW, there wouldn't have been any Adelante units seen on the route as FGW stopped using them in early 2009. Hull trains, Grand Central and East Midlands Railway use them now so maybe later we could see them on other routes if we ever see the Midland Mainline or East Coast Mainline added to TSW.
This is the GWR green liveried unit that appeared at the Old Oak Common 111 open day in 2017. These units would make a superb addition to GWE along with Class 165/1 units especially seeing as GWE has only received Diesel Legends as DLC. The Adalente sets were in use during the period modelled.
If we did get the Adalente, it might feature in GWR livery. GWE hasn't gotten a single loco DLC for it, so even a mostly fictional GWR livery would pass at this point.
Apart from the Diesel Legends pack, GWE has never had a dlc which is disappointing when there are several options that would fit. Time to give GWE a little love. As I mentioned, a twin pack with the Class 180 and 165/1 dmus would be logical to me.
165s would add a big chunk to the amount of services. There are a dozen more GWR 165s than there are 166s. But in order to sell a 165, it would have to be significantly more comprehensive than the 166 in terms of modelling, interactives, the livery, animations, physics and sounds. At which point, the 165/1 would completely kill off the 166 by being infinitely better. People would still drive the 166, however. But 165s are found all over GWR everywhere other than Cornwall, although their Thames and Kennet services are seriously cut.
This fit me is a must have, as I love GWE, but it gets a bit tiresome driving the same trains over and over and would be nice to see some variety on the Route
I'm pretty sure there were 180's in 2015. I'd seem them when I'd go on trips to Ealing or Paddington. Anyways we need the 180 and the 165 to increase services. Also since the 165 has more multiple unit options like the 3+3 3+2 and a rare 3+3+2 unit
First Group were originally going to have the fgw hst and 166 but sadly said no I’m guessing to help advertise their re branding
Years ago, yes. When they tried to establish the GWR brand. When a company - that you have worked with many times before - comes to you and says "we want you to be part of our brand new game" you are going to take that at all costs. And it's a fabulous way to advertise GWR, rather than the outgoing FGW. Isn't going to happen; Most of the line has no OHLE; The 800 is all but ruled out for GWE, there are a few other reasons I can't remember, but it won't happen, sadly.
