Just wondered if the original developers of this route are still around, why you gave this service such a long running time from South Gyle to haymarket? You depart South Gyle at around 0842 with a roughly 3 minute run to Haymarket where you are not booked to arrive until 0855. It's a clear run in, no signal checks so end up sitting at Haymarket for 10 minutes. As it's a career scenario the player can't go in and alter the parameters. If whoever designed the scenario could take a look and patch...
It might be based on real schedules - these often include "recovery time" for late running and Haymarket would be an ideal place to do this to avoid clogging up Edinburgh. In real life there may also be conflicting services at Edinburgh which aren't evident in the scenario. John
That's a fair point, John. Makes sense for this "bottleneck". Vern, scenarios don't get patched unless immediately reported after release (and confirmed to be a bug and not design). Fife Circle's out for a good while, and those who made the scenarios are either gone or working for TSW.
Indeed. Just thought it worth mentioning. I managed to get through 5 or 6 pages of the 4th Wheel Of Time book while waiting, only another 300 (out of 974!) to go. Light be with you!
I think you are missing the Haggis Crossing asset at Turnhouse. Trains in the area are usually slowed down due to the need to stop for these lovely creatures!
I wonder if there should be another train heading in to Edinburgh that the Fife Circle train would catch up with?
That might be the case. Anyhow it wasn't a huge deal in the end, just seems a bit odd sitting for 10 minutes at a busy through platform on the network. And as stated, route long "fired and forgotten" by the original developer.
