Has the engine audio of the class 170 been fixed to sound realistic?

    1. Will the class 170 be able to couple and operate with the 158? Like they do in reality?
    2. What timetable was used for this route? Is it the timetable from reality?

As above, has there been some oversight and QA on Rivet's sound and physics for the Class 170?

Probably the one real barrier preventing most of us making this a Day One purchase or even pre-order.

Any plans to add a Class 68 loco hauled set to complement the 170 and forthcoming 158?

I've only one question to ask you:
When Class 158 will be released as DLC, will it have its own dedicated timetable, or will it overlap with existing runs? Or will additional services be added? Thanks in advance!

    • Will the Class 170 use the dynamic PIS system that works with any route because it reads from a route's station directory file, or will it use textures that only show stations from the Fife Circle line?
    • Are all platforms at Edinburgh Waverly modelled and usable in scenario planner and free roam mode?

Can we get a full breakdown on player & AI services across all included & layered rolling stock?

It may not be for Rivet to discuss, but are we going to get 3+2 170/158 consists?

Would Rivet (or another dev) be open to doing a 170/158 timetable pack for E2G, putting us slightly back in time to pre-electrification?

Are we able to turn off Announcements or make them manual ??. I know they are automatic.

Can we get some night footage of the route ??.

    1. Where did the 170 sounds come from? Recording trips or Armstrong powerhouse?
    2. Why choose Fife Circle?
    3. How frequent are the services?

Is the 158 a paid DLC in the future or is it a free add on later?

It'll be a paid DLC, released 1-2 months after Fife Circle.

Will the 801 Azumas run as AI traffic to Markinch and beyond to Aberdeen like in real life? Also will there be a variable train formation for the 170 as in a 6 car train during peak times?

Have planes been modelled arriving/taking off as the route passes Edinburgh Airport, similar to London Commuter? Thanks

It's not just a simple reskin unfortunately. It requires a lot more effort. In comparison, the centro 323 was also a paid addon.

What is the reason for Rivet cutting the route short? Surely it wouldn’t take much more of an effort to extend it to Perth or Dundee or both!! Terminating it at Markinch seems pointless and stupid!!!

upload_2024-3-20_21-54-5.png Whilst the route is pretty comprehensive it would have been a nice touch!

Yes, I'm not familiar with this line, but is Markinch some kind of terminal station or just the point where the " circle " starts and ends?

The Fife Circle’s last stops before going back are either Glenrothes With Thornton, or Kirkcaldy.

Markinch (which is part of the Edinburgh- Aberdeen mainline, not the Fife Circle) if anything is a bonus, as it gives an extra stop for the services to Perth & Dundee (extra 10 minutes of run time), which aren’t FC services. They didn’t cut any of the Fife Circle short.

Going to either Dundee or Perth would be an extra 20-24(ish) miles each, so basically a whole new route, either separate or combined.

Will the class 158 by skyhook just sub into the route or will it bring in new timetable services to the route?

Much as I’m on the fence about getting this, I do tend to agree. What we are getting is a fairly substantial run and the equivalent of what’s in TSC. If Rivet had gone to Dundee and or Perth as well then we would have had requests as to why they weren’t going on to Aberdeen or Inverness.

TBH after doing a drive on WCL yesterday evening, my Rivetometer has plunged into the red zone again anyway and even if they nailed this route and the 170 I’m reluctant to reward them with a full price purchase while past sins remain unexpurgated. That 150 is just a cacophony of awful sound from the engine, to the out of synch brake rub and the fingers on a chalkboard flange squeal. As to the route…

Is the new feature of the passenger upgrade in regard to not being so rigid at the Goblin Line implemented here as well?

Or is this a new feature for upcoming first party routes only?

Will the announcements etc. recognise when you change ends to take a return service, as it doesn’t on Edinburgh to Glasgow?

Will you look to add the 170 and 801 as Ai in Edinburgh to Glasgow in future?

Just checked Google Earth and the runway layout to the tracks in almost 90 degree angle with full vision on the airfield is kind of predestinated for it. Would really love to have planes arriving and take off over my head when driving by.

If it's not there at release, please would you consider adding it as a future upgrade?

What drew you (rivet) to the Fife circle over other socttish routes.

Will you consider adding in Inter7city services using a modified HST as a future DLC?

Will the fife circle fleet be backdated onto EDN along with the 801?.

And Perth would require doing the Tay Bridge, in addition to doing the Forth

I echo the comments about timetables, and can we see on the stream the full list of class 170 services please? Ie scroll from top to bottom (slowly!) so we can see all available ones?

also what's the plan with class 158 services? Will they just replace certain 170 runs in the future, or add completely new 158 services alongside existing 170 runs? Hoping for the latter of course!

finally can you state ALL add ons that will layer onto this route please?

    thanks!

Solicitr. You hit the nail on the head as to the reason Markinch is the terminus!!! Rivet don’t do bridges well, although their effort of the Forth Bridge looks pretty impressive and if the can replicate it well, hopefully they will correct the glaring errors from past routes, although I somehow doubt that will happen.

I suppose the question for the stream is: Do trains terminate at Markinch in real life?

With it being a circle, presumably Fife Circle trains all depart and terminate at Edinburgh, other trains that are heading further north go through Markinch.

The inclusion of Markinch appears to be to more accurately represent the main line trains which continue onwards, but I wouldn't expect them to model the whole of the east coast of Scotland to see where they all terminate.

If there is a bad reaction from the community when the route releases, what will be the next steps between dtg and rivet? And at what point does the support of rivet grow too thin to be sustainable?

Why should people buy Rivets new route when your last route is still broken in many places, such as chapters 3, 4 and 5 being inaccessible over 2months later?

(Yeah I know Rivet or DTG won't acknowledge this when it's easier to treat customers as mugs)

When will we get back the fast moving external camera on consoles? We don't have that anymore since the release of TSW4. Railfanning is nearly impossible on consoles now.

I'm watching the live preview now and my question is is this an early April Fools joke? This looks horrendous. Several buildings have missing textures, ballast looks awful and the timetable is missing a bunch of Freight and ECS moves

Needs freight services adding before release, otherwise it's a very quiet route in terms of trains and gameplay variety.

The route is clearly unfinished, there is no excuse for not having all the class 170 services, there also needs to be some freight and ideally railtours included.

I guess they need some revenue for financial year end, but this should have been held back a few weeks for the timetable to actually be completed.

Matt hasn’t even tried to hide his embarrassment with this absolute embarrassment of a product.

This isn’t even close to being a state to release. If this isn’t delayed after this debacle then we know (not unsurprisingly) that Rivet really are just a bunch of crooks.

Definitely agree. Adding services to a timetable is not a quick job, so a sound decision might be to delay the release to add additional gameplay.

Rivet Games, and to an extent DTG, should be EMBARRASSED about this route. This looks absolutely horrendous.

How do you create a route that's even worse than Arosa Line AND NYT

I dont understand why you think its acceptable to release an unfinished timetable. If DTG released BML with just the SN London-Brighton services there would be uproar so why do you think its acceptable to release a 52 mile route with less than 100 playable services. No freight, railtours or anything. You should 100% be ashamed.
