How does everybody find the sound of the vigilance warning in cab with the 170? I run my console in full dolby digital through an amp and with the 170 being a diesel I like to have the windows part open for sound but if I do this it makes the vigilance very hard to hear which has caused emergency brake applications, not sure what it's like through a TV but deffo needs attention.
For the past month or two all AWS / DSD / Vigilance alarms seem to have become so quiet they're basically inaudible, on all trains on all routes. Not sure if a recent update changed the mixer settings, but I can't hear them over engine noise anymore so usually have to leave them off as I never spot the yellow warning icon in time.
Works on my machine but I run with the windows closed. That’s a pretty loud engine to being doing full runs with the windows open, I can’t imagine you’d be able to have the volume very high with that thing going.
No but its not about the volume as such, its the immersion of having the sounds coming from all around you
I've been nagging about this ever since FCL was released. It was one of my bullet points in my what's wrong with the route post in the player feedback thread. I've mostly conceded on this and just run with either the windows closed or DSD off and don't the the platinums. I don't think they'll ever fix it and honestly, I don't even care anymore, because the community mod fixes 90% of what I've found to be wrong about this route. Rivet can really do the community a favor because it's them who keep their content up to TSW4 standards.
I would say it would be immersion breaking to open all the windows, the Class 170 cab is designed to be quiet, opening the window would drown out most sound, including the DVD.
