The idea I had in mind, was BNSF's fallbridge subdivision, and the section from Vancouver, WA, to Wishram, WA, and to run along the Columbia River Gorge. The route would be 82 miles, and would have the scenic views of mount hood, and the gorgeous columbia river gorge.

The Union Pacific also has a line to Portland in the area, so we could see both UP and BNSF trains (or maybe BN or GN trains if the route was backdated).

Have you looked at the route editor?

It might give some idea of the work involved in creating an 80+ mile route! :)
