Why is this still not fixed ? Here is a Kinzigtal test: Run a freight under PZB at 120 line speed using AFB. Set throttle to zero. When speed drops below 100, reduce AFB to 100: E-brakes lok to about 80; When speed drops below 80, reduce AFB to 80: e-braking drives speed down to near sixty. Let's fix this: it is an add-on. It dates back to TSW3, right ? Or is this prototypical for BR182 ?? Steam is chock full of neg reviews dating back 2+ years ?
O gawd ! This is just a repaint of an add-on i got for TSW2 ! So is this weird AFB behavior there already for 3 years ??? Recall all the coaching to reduce throttle to zero to Coast in the tutorials ? I don't have a DB manual for Baureihe 182 yet ... even if the real lok must be run using AFB, this panic braking remains really weird.
I tested this with a BR 185 freight on Kinzigtal. This time PZB 70 set max at 100 kph, not the 120 kph of the Dispolok 182. Some trace of this AFB braking does occur, but only when reducing AFB to a value very close to running speed. From 100 to 90 when running at 80, no panic e-braking, but at 79, reducing to 80 does flash on some mild e-braking, but it is transient and the speed of the heavy freight is unaffected. Is a 185 so much less erratic than a 182? Is this 185 AFB close to prototypical ? Without input from a DB manual or a 182 and 185 lok driver, does someone know if this does need fixing on BR182 in TSW5 ??
