I understand that volumetric fog will only be present in TSW3 and TSW4 routes.

However, is it possible to adjust the level of "normal" fog on older routes using the Fog Density slider?
By "normal" I mean the kind of fog that we get today with the Misty and Foggy weather presets.

It would be really great if we could, because a little haze in the distance makes the world look so much better.

Well, this wasn't really a suggestion since the slider already exists in TSW4, where it is used to control the amount of volumetric fog on routes with the TOD4 lighting system.

I was just wondering if the same slider can be used to control "non-volumetric" fog on older routes without the latest lighting system (routes from TSW2020 and TSW2). In TSW4 this is.

However, I did actually suggest a slider for fog, and also one for temperature for TSW2.
But that was over a year and a half ago now.

Yea. Sorry. I misread original post. It's hopefully going to happen as it should be there with the fog and rain sliders in the weather options. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be so hopefully it's all good.

PC or console? If it’s PC you can do it, console you can’t.

Edited to add; Apologies, I thought you were talking about TSW3.

Yes, the fog slider exists for everyone - but if you dont have volumetric fog you'll be sliding the level of "old style" fog.

Vol fog vs old style fog is a toggle option for those platforms that have the option, but the slider is always there.

(we had fog before, it just didnt get much use)

    Matt.

Thank you for your answer Matt. It will be nice to have a separate slider for fog.
That way I will no longer have to start with the misty or foggy presets and turn
the clouds down in order to get a nice hazy day.

Just FYI, slider or not, if you’re on PC you can use the God Mode mod which allows you to set fog levels to at least 4 decimal places.

    Thank you :)
I had forgotten about God Mode. I did use it in TSW2 for setting the date so that I would get more varied runs in Service Mode. But when TSW3 was released with it´s own calender function I stopped using it.

In general I try to use as few mods as possible. I use Bescot´s soundmods to be able to run german freighttrains without losing my mind, but that´s about it.

You know you can do that without a mod though, right? :)

Could you do that in TSW2? I thought you could only select the month, and not the date.
    Maybe I´m remembering it wrong.

Anyway, in TSW3 I can choose whatever date I want, and I really like that :)
And the fog slider in TSW4 makes me even happier :D
