Lately I have been on a major kick with Swiss railways, particularly the Rhatiche Bahn, with its routes in Train Sim Classic. We already have a great selection of routes present in the game mainly from Rivet Games/Thompson Interactive, being the Thusis-St. Moritz Albula Line, Chur-Arosa Line, The full Bernina Line from St. Moritz to Tirano, albeit two separate routes combined on the Steam Workshop, Sursavela Line from Richanau-Tamins to Disentis/Muster, and the Engadin Line from St. Moritz to Schol-Tarasp. There is also the Davos line from Landquart-Filisur as well as the GE 6/6 I "Baby Krokodil" available from third-party developers, but both of these are quite dated.

However even with all the stock and selection of routes we have now there are still several major gaps in the RhB system that definitely deserve to be represented as well as numerous iconic locomotives and rolling stock both steam, diesel, and electric that truly deserve a place in Train Sim Classic.

For the routes, we are currently missing the double-tracked mainline between Richanau, Chur, and Landquart, with numerous industrial shunting opportunities on the RhB as well as the parallel SBB line, which has a third rail to access the EMS Chemical Works. We are also missing the iconic Davos Line from the RhB's major workshops and yard at Landquart, through the Heidiland to the iconic ski resorts of Klosters and Davos to the connection with the Albula Line at Filisur. And while the Landwasser Viaduct on the Albula Line is one of if not the most iconic structure in Switzerland, the Davos Line is host to the largest viaduct on the RhB network between Davos and Filisur. Along with that we are also missing the Richanau-Thusis section of the Albula Line, and the Verina Tunnel linking Klosters with the Lower Engadin.

The Inclusion of these routes, especially in a combined form, will allow innumerable opportunities to cover the full runs of trains such as the Glacier and Bernina Expresses from Disentis to Chur and St. Moritz, as well as literally all of the RhB's regional services and freight runs from Landquart, Chur, Samedan, and Pontresina. And one can even follow the journey of a loaded log wagon from St. Peter Molinis on the Arosa Line to Campocologno on the Bernina Line and oil from Campocologno to numerous possible locations on the network.

Moving to stock now. The most iconic locomotive in not just Switzerland, but the world over, is unfortunately not represented in the game, at least by a main developer. This is of course the GE 6/6 I "Baby Krokodil". I believe this is a no-brainer to have in the game due to its universal icon status, and is great for everything from the Nostalgiazug for modern operations, to working mixed and freight trains in the 1980's and 90's.

Also from the same era, the GE 4/4 I locomotives have yet to be included in the game as well railcars such as the ABe 4/4 I "Flying Rhatian" and ABe 4/4 II models, as well as the modern Capricorn railcars to complement the existing Allegra sets, and the Articulated Alvra trainsets which are commonplace on Regional services. The Bernina Line is also missing a good amount of its iconic stock such as their own version of the Krokodil, ABe 4/4 railcars, electric shunters, and GEM 4/4 electro-diesels which handled Bernina Express services from Chur to Pontresina under diesel power, switching to the Bernina Line's voltage the rest of the way to Tirano.

And we must not also forget the steam locomotives currently rostered by the RhB for special services, such as the G 4/5 and G 3/4 models. There is also a large amount of older rolling stock that has yet to be included with everything from two-axle and bogie box vans, to open wagons, tank cars, and log wagons. Also coaches such as the Carroza Panoramica and the center-door coaches as well as the various driving trailers have yet to be included as well.

So let's get to it Rivet Games. Make a return to Train Sim Classic and let's make the Rhatiche Bahn whole.

Too bad that Dovetail will not complete their updating of the core game that they promised. This could be a reason why they are not completing these connecting routes.
