For Those Waiting For The Leven Line Upgrade To Fife Circle A Look At The Real Thing Before It Opens

For those waiting for the free upgrade to Fife Circle which will add the Levenmouth line, courtesy of a video posted by Geoff Marshall yesterday evening, you can see the real thing just before it opens on June 1st (no idea when the upgrade is coming) -

 

Looks great. Very nice documentary. Thanks to anyone involved to provide this first insight.

I really hope that it will come. And that Rivet at least fixes some scenery elements with the upgrade. Fife Circle is currently 30% off (just along many if not all Rivet DLCs), if anyone's interested in grabbing it. But I keep on waiting to see if they really have the will to even out their mistakes and the upgrade is really coming.

 

I think if Rivet don't do the update, their credibility will finally be completely ruined.

So, fingers crossed, I'm hopeful, it'll tie in nicely with the route to create an interesting little network!

 

Rivet will be updating the Leven Branch for free. Whether they do it justice in terms of accuracy remains to be seen. We all know Rivet‘s route building is extremely amateurish in places, so l am not holding out much hope.

 

I am way behind the ball on keeping up with TSW news, but from a Google search.... it WAS open and now it's REOPENING next month in real life? Which one is being included? The original line from 20 years ago with mostly freight? Or the "new" commuter one? Or both?
Is there more information on the Fife Circle updates? A link or something?
I just bought it in the recent sale and it's... alright so far. The scenery isn't bad. It's one of the few "loop" lines that isn't directly linear so that piqued my interest. (Interestingly a couple other routes COULD have been complete loops but just omitted bits of track to stop that for some odd reason. The track is already THERE but not drivable.... odd....but that's another matter)

The Leven part could add a lot more content (provided they don't stop fixing the existing route of course) Having never been to Scotland (but Southern England a number of times) I have no idea if Fife is ACCURATE, but it has possibilities in TSW!

 

The Leven Extension in TSW will be the new re-opened route, using the ScotRail. 170/158s as appropriate.

Levenmouth line opens tomorrow, but Rivet's update is still TBA, somebody may even use the PC editor to make a Levenmouth line and release it before Rivet's update.
I don't hope much about Rivet's Levenmouth line since they had failed us many times , its quality may not be guaranteed or it would be a TSW5 only. But who knows?

 

It'll be interesting, as the branch in game is single track, yet in real life it's dual track.

 

The part at the junction is single-track - so that's probably what is represented already.

I'm not hopeful they will get it right some of the scenery on the route looks like something from Minecraft it still needs alot of work but with Rivets reputation I don't it will be updated

 

I drove it using a 47 as I was curious, and I think it was mostly all single track.
Unless I derailed on a junction before the double bit? :')

Would be good to know if Rivet are planning on making a new, separate timetable for the Leven branch update or instead modifying the existing timetable. Do the services planned for the branch IRL extend off the existing Fife Circle services or are they additional services added purely for the new branch? Also note Geoff Marshall's video states at introduction there will be an hourly service via Kirkcaldy at launch, but introducing more services later on nearer the new year, going via Dunfermline as well.

 

The first official service on Leven Branch (according to the Scotrail website) is scheduled for tomorrow, June 2, at 8:30 AM. It seems like a dedicated service (via Kirkcaldy?), Leven--->Waverley.

EDIT- 158 in special livery performed the first service this morning (158 719).

 

For now it is, I think the later plan is via Dunfermline.
I'd settle for the current via Kirkcaldy, as it gives that route more services too

 

A quick Timelapse. That sea at Leven Station is amazing. It looks so peaceful and calm. You can even see Berwick Law far off in the distance. I hope Rivet get this correct. Please for once lol.
