Ever felt like killing Foreman Dan, or yourself after a long scenario listening to his evil laugh, now you can !.. not yourself but Foreman Dan ! Visit this thread to see how you can easily do it without having to edit every single loco on your american routes, if you haven't got an account you should register, lots of useful stuff there: http://railworksamerica.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=5342&sid=4cd9a49208aa4e271a3bf2747a9f6e47 This thread is mainly intended for new players not knowing how to shut him up
Those who had not already read this thread might not ave know that https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/foreman-dan-hernandez.36171/ The files that play are called *Cab_Radio.dav or *Radio.wav - deleting them stops the radio chatter But as some of these files come in an *.ap file that might not be possible
I am reluctant to post the batch file script here since someone else wrote it. 749006 : Those are the files to delete, you can do it manually by locating the Audio file to each route or loco addon, the files are located in the "Cab" folder. I believe Dan was removed for later addons, the script will not delete from .ap files, but it will delete Dan from older routes not contained in .ap files and also from Kuju. I have started unpacking my .ap files due to milk bottles and various other artifacts, so I had to check. Oh, you can delete files in .ap files at least with 7zip, or you could just rename them in case you miss Dan and want to revert it.
If you have a loco that comes in a *.ap file you extract the file and you can delete the *.wav file But if the game looks for any file and cannot find it outside the *.ap file it uses the one inside In those cases you need to replace the *.wav file with something else otherwise it dos not work
Who? Never heard of him before today.. You have radio chatter on US loco's? Oh I've been missing all the fun... I jest, I'm glad I don't need to tolerate such dreadful noise in UK loco's I'll be honest I'm curious to hear what it's all about now though, especially Desperate Dan or whatever his name is.
Just run one of the Kuju US locos on a short trip and you can hear him wittering on in the background
It was Kujus/RSCs way of simulating radio chatter in North American locomotives, but the messages repeated so much they became annoying.
