I’m not too worried about either of them being forgotten. Admittedly the BR 420 has been stuck in limbo for a long time, but I suppose TSG is waiting for something more ideal than Munich-Augsburg to put that thing on? Who knows. Perhaps it’s in the backlog while they prioritized some of their other projects like the Niddertalbahn, Expert 101, and Mittenwaldbahn. The Class 104 though, that’s being made by SimTrack. All they’ve made so far for TSW is a livery with a few scenarios, so a whole new train with a whole new Peak Forest timetable is a bit of a leap in effort. May take a while for that one!
yes, sure, 420 was being "delayed" until it disappeared from roadmap as well as 104 which had also been "delayed" and then suddenly disappeared from roadmap
Munich Augsburg was going to be the main route for it, but due to the extremely bad performance that would get caused with extra 420 layers it would have been unplayable for consoles. So now its said to come to Frankfurt and so on needs to be modified for Tsw 5 standard and new interior/exterior, so its delayed. Possible to get some news for it in december.
The Class 104 is taking SimTrack longer than they thought. Also, they worked with JT on WCMLOS, so the 104 will have been delayed by that as well.
Im still surprised HIS hasn't teased anything for their stuff, they always like teasing their TSC content when they make it over there, so the silence from them on TSW is either odd, or shows they announced their stuff too early......
Ya i wonder too about HIS that Santa Fe pak has been on the road maps for a good while now ,kinda a eerie silence from them on any TSW stuff ,plus they will need to be more on their game with their TSW content considering some of the TSC stuff of theirs that ppl talk about on the TSC side ..and they are the seemingly 3rd party developers that signed up to do US content hopefully new freight stuff ..i have a lot of their routes in TSC i love the B&O Chessie era Mountain sub the Feather River Enhanced routes
If it couldn’t be put on Munich due to poor performance then it isn’t going to do well on Frankfurt as that route is even worse than Munich was.
Last time the developers popped up a few months back they said the 104 was still in the works but slightly delayed. I'm hoping that's still the case as we need more older DMUs in the game and Peak Forest needs a bit of TLC and more services... But it has been on the roadmap for an awfully long time.
It's not the performance but memory consumption. Munich is "full". Adding a further train to the TT makes it explode on consoles. That's the reason. Nothing else. "Fixing" the route is nothing near economical to do. So it wont happen.
Simtrak helped out with JT’s WCMLOS, so that’s probably where their time has been spent. Personally I think they bit off more than they could chew, jumping from a livery to a whole train. Probably taking a lot longer than they anticipated.
I was rather scrolling through Maik's posts regarding the 420 and then I just saw this. Sorry for replying to an aged thread.
Ludmilla is not forgotten but “only” a side project, Maik has already stated that Ludmilla will only be worked on if there is time and desire to do so. In addition, it was completely re-modeled from scratch during development and therefore lost its profitable aspect and priority.
