I'm fairly sure that this came up in other threads but the subject has more recently gone quiet, although the issue still persists. In many routes there are certain cases where no matter what you do or try, you are completely unable to spawn in a certain locomotive or wagon from a given addon into the route you are on. In each case it won't be just a case of, for example, the BR143 alone from Riesa - Dresden, but every single logo and wagon from that addon. Sometimes this might be just one addon that refuses to work, other times it could be so many you can do practically nothing. Each time you are greeted by the same error message: As I understand it the system is supposed to prevent you from spawning trains where they just wouldn't realistically work, for example trying to spawn a US freight train on a UK route. However there are some things that really should work, a UK diesel on a German route for example, that don't. Over the next few days I'll gradually be testing different routes and seeing what can and cannot spawn where, accordingly updating this post with the ones that do not work. That being said, the following is a list of each route that this affects and the addons which are unable to load into it. It seems to be hit and miss as well sometimes, was on Eastcoast way and tried to spawn in some 377s stabled at Eastbourne but had the same thing come up about not enough space, the 377s were the BML variant and the East Coastway version spawned fine. However when I fired it back up, they spawned in with no issues.
I am indeed in timetable mode, but I fail to see why timetable mode should cause this? Especially when it is so inconsistent, enough to block off trains in their own country. That's interesting, in my experience the ones that fail to spawn have been constant and never change with a relaunch. For example since the update where Formation Designer was launched on PC months ago (the update that started this issue in the first place) I have never been able to spawn any Blackpool Branches content in on SEHS, my most played and driven route which has been relaunched many times. One pattern I do notice however is that in any route where this issue is present, it never affects any content from addons that have a layer present in the timetable. For example Blackpool Branches being the only piece of UK content available in Semmeringbahn coincides with the Class 47 railtour there, or on SEHS I believe content from Main Spessart-Bahn works because of the presence of Laaers wagons at Dagenham docks. DTG did at one point seem to make efforts to fix this, at one point you couldn't spawn in items from West Cornwall Steam into GWE and there were several more addons that didn't work in SEHS, whereas now you can. It just seems like a couple more things slipped through the net and the same problems keep appearing in the newer content. And I do say newer, because while it does sometime happen in them, TSW2020-TSW3 routes have far fewer occurrences of these errors.
Updated the list with Birmingham Cross City. This is new, I do not recall having so many errors on this route and I know for a fact I have run steam engines and freight along it more than once.
Bumping this old thread up to say that this issue has reared its ugly head again, though it didn't actually go away to begin with. It is now affecting the new Class 87, which after only wanting to do a railtour with I can say refuses to spawn on ECML, GOBLIN, SEHS and Glossop. I have however been able to spawn it on WCMLS, BCC and Cathcart. Restarting three times changed nothing.
