Dovetail Games Forum Conduct Update - 10th July 2023

Hello folks,

As a follow-up to some locking some threads yesterday, we’ve now gone through and tidied up a couple of high-velocity and unacceptable threads, taking action where we deem necessary.

We won’t mention individual names or individual circumstances, but we would urge people to think about how they would like to be treated themselves, and think about – had they been face-to-face with that individual, rather than virtually – would they still engage in the same way?

As a reminder: we do not tolerate personal attacks on individuals, whether they be another player, a member of Dovetail Staff, or representatives of Partner developers. And it is never acceptable to bring people’s personal lives into a public forum. We want our forums to be welcoming, constructive, and a place where players and members of both Dovetail staff and partners can engage in healthy discussion. Any users found to be engaging in such activity we will take action against.

We do not want to be punitive, to lock threads – however, in some instances we have no choice. Play nicely, or not at all.

If you see posts which you feel violate the conditions above, please report them, rather than publicly replying to the thread. Replying gives credence and validation to the person starting the behaviour in the first instance, and also helps the threads to continue to rise to the top of the forums.

Thank you to the 99% of you who are doing exactly what we’d like our players to use this forum for, it’s a shame that we have to put this kind of post out. We hope you all have a good Monday.
