This is the S-Bahn section from my previous thread, as I had no time to do this yesterday. It is a continuation of this (https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/cologne-frankfurt-high-speed-line.27855/#post-182504) and this will essentially be like the Köln/Bonn Airport Loop but as a seperate post. Anyways, let's begin!

    Kelsterbach
    [IMG]

We start off at Kelsterbach, where the line itself begins. The station is the station serving the town of Kelsterbach in the German state of Hesse on the Main Railwayfrom Mainz to Frankfurt. The station is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 5 station. Services on lines S 8 and S 9 each operate at 30-minute intervals on the Wiesbaden Hauptbahnhof–Hanau Hauptbahnhof route. Together the two lines operate at 15-minute intervals through Kelsterbach. In the peak hours a few S-Bahn services run from Kelsterbach to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof or vice versa. The station platforms are not accessible for the disabled.

    Frankfurt am Main Regional

Next stop is Frankfurt Airport's Regional Station. It is an underground railway station at Frankfurt Airport in Frankfurt, Germany. It provides local S-Bahn and Regionalbahn services to the city and the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main Metropolitan Region. The station opened on 14 March 1972 together with a new passenger terminal (Terminal Mitte, now called Terminal 1). At the time it was only the second railway station serving an airport in Germany (after Berlin Schönefeld Airport Station). In 1999, a second train station opened at Frankfurt Airport (Frankfurt Airport long-distance station) which is primarily used by long-distance trains, mostly ICE services. Regional Express services 2, 3 and 59, as well as S8 and S9 of the Rhein-Main S-Bahn lines stop here.

    Gateway Gardens
    [IMG]

Gateway Gardens is an underground railway station 1 kilometre (1 mi) east of Frankfurt Airport in Germany. It is between Frankfurt Stadion station and Frankfurt Airport regional station on the lines S8 and S9 of the Rhine-Main S-Bahn commuter network. It is served by the S8 and S9 lines of the Rhein-Main S-Bahn.

    Frankfurt am Main Stadion.

Further out on the line, out of the tunnels is Frankfurt Stadion station. It is a junction railway station in Frankfurt, Germany. Stadion station is close to Frankfurt's main football stadium, the Commerzbank-Arena. Prior to 1937 it was called Frankfurt-Goldstein and from then until 24 December 2005 it was called Frankfurt-Sportfeld. According to Deutsche Bahn it is used by 570 trains a day and is the busiest railway junction in Germany. The station is located about a kilometre from the stadium. Here, the S7 joins the S8 and S9 S-Bahn lines.

Stadion station is connected from the west by the Main Railway from Mainz Central Station and the line from Frankfurt Airport of the Rhine-Main S-Bahn and from south by the Mannheim–Frankfurt railway from Mannheim Central Station. Since the opening of the Cologne–Frankfurt high-speed rail line from Cologne Central Station, which connects with the Mannheim–Frankfurt railway, its traffic also runs through the node without stopping. The station is connected to the north with four tracks over the Niederrad Main bridges to Frankfurt Central Station and to the east with two tracks along the original route of the Main Railway to Frankfurt South station. The line to the east also connects with the Main-Neckar Railway to Darmstadt Central Station at the nearby Forsthaus junction.

    Frankfurt Niederrad

And continuing onwards we arrive at Frankfurt Niederrad. It is a station in the district of Niederrad in the southwest of Frankfurt am Main in the German state of Hesse. The station is used by Regional-Express and Regionalbahn services and S-Bahn services of lines S 7, S 8 and S 9. Intercity and Intercity-Express services pass by on the Mannheim–Frankfurt railway without stopping. A few years ago some InterCity trains also stopped in the off-peak.

Underneath the station there are interchanges with tram lines [IMG] and [IMG] (runs only at certain times) and bus lines 78 (runs only from Monday to Friday) and 79 (runs only in the mornings and from Monday to Friday).

    Frankfurt am Main Hauptbahnhof (Tief)

The last station of the S-Bahn part of this particular route is the low-level platforms of Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof. It is a four-track S-Bahn station below Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof and as such part of the busiest railway station in Frankfurt, Germany. It is also the busiest rapid transit station in Frankfurt. The underground station forms together with Hauptwache station and Konstablerwache station the key nodes in the network of the Rhine-Main S-Bahn, a rail network that serves the Frankfurt/Rhine-Main region. It connects with the surface platforms of regional and long-distance services and also interchanges with the U-Bahn and trams. All S-Bahn services, with the exception of the S7 Line, serves this part of the station.

    Conclusion
And that is that. It took a lot less time making this compared to the Köln-Frankfurt HSL Post. But until next time, see ya!
