1) Probably one of the AI layers is NJ (I assume NightJet), has anyone found it somewhere? 2) What is the current situation around the TGV layers? So that I don't need to buy a map with TGV...
1 - For now I would be satisfied (I'm being ironic) to see the 101 Expert. I find it very strange that it was not inserted in what would have been its first new route. In its place they put the old 101 with two locos at the ends. It's incredible but that's how it is.
So we spent 35 Euros for? I really don't understand which side you're on And why didn't they plan to insert parallel layers and timetables for a product that came out only a couple of months ago and was sold as their most valuable piece? You make me spend 35 euros and then in the brand new TSW5 route you insert the old 101 (the one paid almost 1/3 of this one)? I repeat, it all seems like a big joke to me. Then for the 35 Euro diamond we always have the Rosenheim-Salzburg and TSW4, right?
You select the map in the menu and then you have a choice of locomotives ... above that is the field Search and next to it on the right is Layers and Filters..... so Layers
That would be because its a DTG route and they want you to buy/use the DTG 101. The expert is by TSG so why would you put a 3rd party loco on your route if its basically the same train. I'm sure if TSG made a route that the 101 was used on they would default the Expert 101 for the stock and not use the DTG 101.
It is unable to substitute because of the cab car and on some routes, the original 101 was not setup for substitution or it doesn't work. They have to duplicate the timetable and remake the services so it's running the expert 101 + cab car
I noticed a couple of 218’s sitting at Frankfurt when I started a run a short while ago. Need to see if they have any driveable services on there.
So there is no point in buying the Expert DLC, I understand correctly ... if the person is primarily interested in Cabcar
That's why I bought the 218 instead of the Expert 101. With the 218 you have much more action on timetable mode at a lot of routes.
I want to think that it is not like that otherwise I would have to start boycotting TSW and TSC. The surprising thing though is that I often feel like the only customer. I mean, the 101 Expert DLC sold a lot I think, is it possible that the others are fine with this, with the 101 Expert just released and already put aside?
The Expert timetable for Frankfurt-Fulda is coming, have patience With the timing of the BR 101 Expert DLC and TSW5 it was always going to be unlikely (if not impossible) for the Expert timetable to be released on day one. The FTF timetable is also a monster and it takes over 6 hours to simulate it (and then you find an issue and have to fix that and simulate 6 hours again). Lukas has been working hard on this timetable in the past weeks and it is now being beta tested. I've even had the chance drive a few services up and down the route with the BR 101 Expert and Bpmmbdzf cab car and it is pretty fun, the train fits right in It is possible (but as always I don't control this so only get your hopes up when it is confirmed by DTG) that both the Frankfurt-Fulda and Bremen-Oldenburg Expert timetables will be in the same patch.
It's a shame that there is no such thing as a timetable for these AI services, so that a person does not have to search for it for a whole week, sometimes without success
It is not sure it will come. The problem is that the TGV is not the correct version and does not support the german voltage. DTG is working on getting it to work as AI, but no promises. It is expected to come with Patch 1 (not the one they released the september 17th).
There are number of issues reported for the standard timetable. Maybe it is better to wait until they fix that before making the changes for the Expert 101 timetable?
I bought it. But I don't feel that they are abandoning it. I'm sure it will be added in the future. And on future DLC's. It only just released what 2 months ago. And I'm pretty sure DTG were already in the thick of making the Frankfurt route by then so it wouldn't have been available for them to add to the timetable. Which would be why Lukas said it would be on a future timetable upgrade. Also he said they are looking into adding it to more past routes as well. Also DTG probably wanted to make sure it sold well first. And from what I heard it has. So just be patient and you will see more and more uses for it. We had to wait along time for us to get this much variety in stock in the game. I remember playing TVL before we got the Class 20 and Class 31. Or Trans Penine before the BR heavy freight pack. So it will come.
I found a couple of layers on the list which say they aren’t owned, but I have both of the routes concerned: Manifest-5 for Dresden-Riesa 103 for Vorarlberg Any ideas?
Yes, but it's quite possible that some other route is needed.....it's chaotic.....in the Nidertalbahn map I have, for example, some missing layer BR 420 and the Linke Rheinstrecke map....I have that map, so obviously another one will be needed...
Bingo! Layer IC + Taurus in Frankfurt - Fulda ... on Fulda at 14:31, formation BR101 + IC coaches + OBB 1116, direction Würzburg
The only European route I don’t own is Linke Rheinstrecke so that may be it, which makes sense for the 103 being mentioned. I also don’t own the RhB Swiss routes, but I don’t see metre gauge Swiss trains layering onto Frankfurt-Fulda somehow!
From what I could glean fro the timetable, the 103 only has one short trip in each direction between Frankfurt and Hanau.
As a rail tour kind of thing maybe, that manifest-5 one is weird though, ah well, I can’t be missing too much!
I see, is need: Kassel - Wurzburg, Bremen - Oldenburg, Maintalbahn, Niedertalbahn, Linke Rheinstrecke, Ruhr Sieg Nord, Semmeringbahn, Vorarlberg, Main Rhein - Ruhr + BR 101, Dresden - Riesa, BR 363 Addon for Ruhr Sieg , maybe BR193 Vectron Addon .... I hope I didn't miss anything
Yes only AI. From Kassel, via Fulda to Wurzburg.....and Taurus is at the end of the formation But what I can't find are NJ services
Asking out of ignorance and curiosity, should there be more ICE 3 services? I was surprised to see only the one going a few stops from Frankfurt.
I’m sorry, I meant playable services, I only have one from Frankfurt to Hanau. It’s also a shame they couldn’t have used the OBB Coaches from Semmeringbahn for the EC services.
Oh yes, only 1 service for ICE3. I have to say that I don't like the OBB Bmz very much compared to the DB coaches, and the 1st class is still missing. There's no shadow under the car as they have, for example DB, and I think that even the wheels have something with a texture that doesn't suit me.....
DTG used an outdated RoosT freight wagon from the Maintalbahn, while Dresden Chemnitz has an updated version with brake PG. Thats somwhat 0 step forward 2 steps back. My guess is they lost track of all the different types of the same vehicle. Its not just the different updated versions, since dtg failed to focus on 1 updated version across all routes, the mess now cant be solved afterwards + Harddisc space is wasted with 7x the same class 66, 14x dost cab car. Even worse in the formation designer - db 185 - 185 Db - 185-db - 185.2 Each for the same vehicle in different dlcs . This should have been a priority in core development of the very first tsw release.
They need to reduce all the duplicate rolling stock back down to 1 version, put that version into the core of TSW & implement a key system. Don’t own the route or loco? No access to it. Buy the digital Key via a route or Loco DLC? Boom access. Keeps it down to one asset per vehicle that can be consistently updated across all routes & is easier for everyone to deal with. Yes it will increase the ‘core’ file size, but it would help the above issue & also alleviate the content migration each year.
Good to know, I didn’t realise! They look like reskinned versions of the DB IC coaches, whether they are the exact same vehicle in reality I don’t know. From the videos I’ve seen, some of the OBB coaches have sliding shutters for cycle storage - it would be nice to have those and, as you say, the 1st class for complete sets. Maybe one day!
Maybe.... sometimes I feel that quantity is being pushed over quality... I understand, it is necessary to earn money so that it makes sense for creators, but after all.....
True, I also think with things like this, it’s impossible to over-communicate. Being completely silent on some aspects of the game is making the rumour mill go crazy. I have seen them do it a few times, but acknowledging “yes, this looks bad, we’ll work on it” or “we didn’t include this for x reason” is better than seemingly ignoring the issue. It brings me hope that people like Just Trains are in the picture, you can tell by their content it’s a real passion project, done by enthusiasts for enthusiasts.
