I think this would be very interesting and obvious choice for a German route at this point... why? This would a very long route (well over 100 Km)... but parts of it already exist in TSW and the full run would be very diverse, interesting and we also have most of the rolling stock in game. So, how can this work? Everyone would love to see longer routes in TSW and I think this might be a good choice, because there are many assets in game and Frankfurt-Hanau (from the new TSW 5 route) can simply be copied over as a base. Frankfurt - Hanau (including via Frankfurt Ost and Maintal!) Hanau-Aschaffenburg: this part would have to built from scratch Aschaffenburg - Gemünden. rebuild this part set in present day with TSW 5 standards Lohr am Main - Würzburg via Schnellfahrstrecke (most of it is in Kassel-Würzburg, if merging is not possible, rebuild) Gemünden-Würzburg via Karlstadt (new part) Sounds alot? Yes, maybe... but they have Assets for most of it (Würzburg, Aschaffenburg, Gemünden, Hanau etc.). ICE Frankfurt to Wien (Würzburg) Via Hanau,Aschaffenburg, Abzweig Nantenbach, Würzburg (ICE-T) ICE Essen (Frankfurt) to Munich (Würzburg) via Hanau,Aschaffenburg, Abzweig Nantenbach, Würzburg (ICE 3) Dense freight traffic with Vectron coming from Hanau or Frankfurt Süd towards Würzburg via Aschaffenburg and Gemünden. The Line between Gemünden and Würzburg is a famous corridor for freight and a major place for train spotters in the summer. You can run any freightwaggons with Vectron, Taurus or 185 along this route and it won´t be out of place. RE Frankfurt to Würzburg: Twindexx runs this line in DB livery. This would be the new EMU that comes with the route. This service is also served by BR 425 sometimes. We already have this in game. HLB RB services would need the BR1440 to come to the game as DLC or with the route.
Stations and route parts can't be copied for other routes. So the entire part from Frankfurt(Main)Hbf to Hanau has the rebuild. They can only skip the investigation and know which part where to place. Secondly, it is 124 km if the high-speed line is used. The express trains and freight trains can't use this part and that line part is 46 km long. That will be too much, even when some parts are built already because it is a line with lots of stations, cities, villages and more. The high-speed line between Kassel and Würzburg could be built only, because it has just three stations. And third, not TSW players like long-duration sessions. Real train drivers could, but for them, it is a real job. Most of us have another job and then long-duration routes can be exhausted. The option for route hopping can help with multiple fractions and makes a long journey possible. And remember that long routes are difficult to make, can't be released quickly and are expensive. When the most interesting routes are made, the connection parts can be made as small routes, but for now, I don't expect a long route like this coming.
not true...RE was diverted during construction work and I have driven freight trains from Lohr to Würzburg via Schnellfahrstrecke at night.
