Hi, Just been having a play around and have done a free roam with the 323 from Peterborough to Doncaster and have done some 'go-vias' at certain stations along the route. It seems I have greens all the way ahead, yet things are behind me being slowed down. Am I the priority on every occasion, or will there be times I am looped or moved out the way for express service priorities?
I think all trains have equal priority at the moment, it's probably first come first served at signals - I may be wrong though.
I'd hope that the player isn't always given priority. I got the impression that would be part of the fun, giving the game that element of the unexpected by dropping your train into a busy service situation, where you'd get held up. Otherwise, it's going to lose its lustre, I would have thought.
free roam you are the master of your destiny. if you want to get out of the way of a train behind you, you can sort that yourself. Otherwise the dispatcher is just going to do exactly what you ask it to. We don't have anything in to support figuring out whether you should be rerouted or not - that's quite a complex decision process and we've not even started to think about how to attack that one yet Matt.
Literally just typing as you replied, so thank you. Do you want us to send details if we get patching issues (BCC) particularly
Not sure what you mean by patching issues - but if anything isn't how you'd expect, yep, ping it over.
This is using class 37/7 with green 377 (southern in tow) EDIT: All 37/7services are not working. I did a path simply from Bromsgrove platform 1 to Barnt Green main line platform 1, this error came up each time. I tried with a 166/101/323, worked absolutely fine.
When you use free roam in timetable mode, should the signallers protect single lines to prevent head on collisions (assuming there are appropriate signals there to protect the line) or is this not possible? I had a Cornfield meet in Austria and I'm not sure if I did something wrong or if the signaller was not programmed to cope with this situation.
It's difficult for it to protect it in free roam - it does a reasonable job in service mode (but isnt perfect at all) - so you're going to have to apply some attention to trying to avoid it yourself i'm afraid.
I think this is because it's checking electrification - even though it's hauled with a diesel, for some reason the electrostar's electric need is overrulling it. I believe the team are looking into that one. Not sure why different on 323 unless because of 3rd rail on the electrostar being the issue. As I say, its on the list for the team. Matt.
I like this though, I'm on the up fast and I'm getting reds, very interesting and fun (323 got the priority)
I did notice crashes in service mode when trying to plot free roam destinations. This seems to happen when using custom liveries and trying to plot long or complex routes on the map (I'm on a potato PS4).
Any ideas how to stop the free roam issue when using West Somerset as I get stuck at stations for ages, particularly Williton. Any ideas how to path correctly and not screw it up?
For the WSR that's actually very realistic! I think you just have to look ahead and see where other trains are and estimate which paths they will take in advance?
