In the game it's written: "go anywhere, do anything, with any train". I can't! I was expecting an open world like in Microsoft Flight Simulator. It's not there. I would like to go accross the scenic route of Switzerland. How to do it? Are developers straight up lying?
Yes I was very disappointed too, I expected at minimum I'd be able to drive my 66 to Tesco and then pop over for a quick pint at the Dog and Partridge in my Pacer, but the game won't let me out of the station
I had the same issue as it's different to how it is in my last version, TSW3. Give this guide a watch by Trainsimdriver. The Free Roam timetable mode is very good. Though it can cause mayhem on a busy route, and may even cause stuck red lights.
Setelct To the trains Timetable Choose a route Then you see four options: Timetable, scenarios, tutorials and freeroam. Freeraom gives you empty tracks, no other trains, timetable gives you a 24 hours timetable. Press Tab to add a freeroam train. Then sit in the train, select the 2D map, click on the train to set a path. It will not always work: you cannot place a train in an occupied tracks ection, you cannot place trains that are incompatible with the route (e.g. electric train if there are no catenaries).
