    Ahoy there,

Glad to see a few extra UK freight services on the game and that there seems to be freight speeds implemented. However, having driven a few services I’ve noticed they’re not correct.

I had a quick go of the light engine set on BML (0O57 I think) and noticed my speed was capped at 45. That’s incorrect. Light engines are permitted up to 60mph (if the line speed is 65-85 mph then they are restricted to 60mph) and up to 75mph (if the line speed is above 90mph). Why the restriction?

I’ve also tried an empty hopper set from Haywards Heath (6V60) and whilst my speed was correctly capped at a max of 60mph, I was penalised when I came to a 70mph turn out whilst still doing 60mph. All line speeds should be obeyed to 60mph where the speed is capped for the class of train. What’s the score here?

    Nice one.

I noticed a lot of speed limit changes that were different to the line-side signage on the new service I played. For instance I’d pass a sign for 80 and the HUD speed limit would become 50 and other similar proportional changes. I assumed these were rules based speed limits as DTG do have a driver from the route advising them but I’d like to know if they are actually correct. I wouldn’t know what speed to do without the HUD in this case, whereas I could drive a passenger service without the HUD.

I’m a driver as well so I’m going off the same rule book. Can’t say I’ve ever come across any restrictions at junctions. Certain bridges and structures yes but I can’t recall ever altering my speed unless it’s lower than 60 for a Class 6.
