One of the British Routes, in the area where you can access,to add reality to scenarios, workers/people or where you can also access, gravel/vehicles etc, have what is termed as a FRONT END LOADER. It is a BIG 4xdual wheel type of tractor with a large scoop attached to the front and yellow in colour...Generally the loader is driven into a large gravel/dirt pile with the scoop down then the scoop(for want of a better word) is raised up and the load deposited into a truck or rail vehicle. I have used the FEL before to place in a scenario but do you think I can find it this time. Hope I don't seem to petty.....

A friend who likes Buses refers to modern ones as a Front End Loader and the older style a Rear End Loader

Not being in the construction business, my first thought was that you were referring to a railway wagon that can be loaded from it's front; i.e from a front loading dock, but maybe that's an end loader?
