    Summary:
Hello, I present this route idea here today because I believe this is a very interesting concept to explore, this will be a route that provides two high-frequency Commuter Rail lines and one Intercity Amtrak route to drive, along with a vast array of diverse equipment to run the services. I find the way that the Amtrak Downeaster utilizes both Commuter lines for a certain portion of its route provides a great way of adding in both of those Commuter Rail lines in full and having them serve as operable services in the game, that is how I got the idea in the first place. I believe Dovetail already has the licensing for both of the railroads in this route, so that should make things with that even easier. I also believe that this route will be a great way of adding content involving Boston area content, and provides the best opportunity to do so. To anyone from Dovetail reading this, I hope you see the same potential of this route that I do, and will consider my proposal, thank you.

    Very nice idea!
It always great to have a passenger Diesel line with shorter distances, and the F40PH is incredibly unique,
as a non player american player it seems exciting to try out

This is a must have! Please make this a thing! Also maybe spread the word about this to have it get more attention. Plus we NEED more American routes

Also if possible maybe add the Fitchburg line to Wachusett as well as a bonus one but that is optional and It's mostly because I live along that line so of course I'm gonna want it lol. upload_2024-7-10_13-55-58.png

This is a great idea. Two complete commuter rail lines, with three different paths to take, plus different stopping patterns, plus Amtrak... That's really good variety for "just" a passenger route. (Or is there actually any freight as well?) And since we already have Amfleets and there are five decent length Amtrak round trips in there, this is the best suggestion I've seen so far on how we can finally get some Amtrak diesels into the game.

This would be a fabulous addition and a great way to add content from existing licensing.

I'd like to see the Grand Junction Branch added as well, for some late night equipment moves between the north and south sides.

the best or only way to make this reality is to spread the word about this to get peoples attention.

I'm honestly not sure why they went with single level cars for the original route to begin with. Every time we take the Acela out to Boston we see far more of the bilevel fleet, or at the very least some mixed consists. Same for the F40; I seem to see more HSP's on the South Side. I posted a suggestion thread for the original route a couple of years ago... https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/boston-sprinter-train-packs.52864/
At least the Acela got developed out of all of that lol

Hopefully DTG will do more MBTA routes in the future. It would give Boston to Providence a well needed bump with operational and AI service variety if new trains are added, and allow us to explore further into New England with an existing license.

I sent an email to dovetail with this EXACT proposal. Have not gotten a response. If we keep at it, we might get it

well they just announced along with TSW:5 that theres gonna be a new MBTA route with new loco and double decker cars but still from south station but I think we should really keep asking for the haverhill and downeaster lines and more MBTA routes. (I still want Fitchburg line cuz its my home route lmao)

I would like to add that the café car is a little different from the normal ones, it’s split between business class and café seating.

Here’s an idea to try to get this to happen! Everyone email Dovetail asking for this and more American routes and it might actually happen! I hope cuz if we get enough people to email them asking for it it might work!

It wouldn't really change anything. It wouldn't cause them to pump out more content. There are still restrictions for certain operators that an email won't solve. It still takes time to make the content and access the real life locomotives. Some operators are more than willing to help dtg out, but sending emails wouldn't speed up the process lol. Also mass sending them emails would just annoy them

I want to alter my proposal here and have it set in the year 2009, which will include some equipment changes and scenery changes. Should I just edit my post to accommodate the changes, or should I just make an entirely new thread? Thanks.

incase it being too long I think it should be split up into a 3 parter with each being ~1 hour

Really like it by the way Worcester line owners can simply use HSP 46. While owners of Worcester and Northeast Corridor Trenton Boston Northern section get to use the Rolling Stock here on the routes they have
