Why are we seeing certain glitches that where present in previous titles? Why can't we bank fish anymore in freedom fishing. No more multi rod fishing. Missing species. Where's the Tench gone. I understand it's a Bass title again, but there's more to just fishing for Bass, I personally miss the stalking the margins for Carp. Has all this been kept back, and we're going to be made to purchase additional lakes DLC and basic equipment add ons, like we had to purchased in the last titles? I'm enjoying the game, but it's feeling a little copy and paste of the best parts of Fishing SIM world and the Catch. I'm just glad the fish aren't taking to land like in the 1st title. The game has the possibility to be a fishing SIM leader, but don't make us pay out. As this will just push people back onto Fishing SIM world.
To provide a general answer for a couple of questions asked - since it is an officially licensed title from BASS (Bass Angler Sportsman Society), they (the developers) likely had to stick closely to the tournament rules for the Bassmaster College/Open/Elite Series events in order to maintain their licensing agreement. To wit, in BASS sponsored tournaments: - Anglers cannot fish from banks (official rules require competitors have to remain in their boat at all times except for an emergency situation). Pretty self explanatory. - Anglers cannot have multiple rods in the water at the same time (only one casting, spin-casting, or spinning rod is permitted to be used at any one time). AFAIK, this was the same in FSW: Bass Pro Shops Edition - which was also focused purely on bass fishing and you could only have one rod in the water at a time in that game as well. - Only species of "Black Bass" qualify as a legal catch in official tournaments (Largemouth, Smallmouth, Spotted, Redeye (not in game), or Shoal bass (not in game)... and that is subject to each lake's minimum length and daily catch/cull requirements). That explains why there are no carp; but this is also likely due to the fact that carp fishing simply isn't as popular in the US as it is in the UK/Europe (and vice versa with bass fishing not being as popular in UK/Europe as it is in the US). As for tench? Good question... but perhaps because tench weren't native to North American waters until they were imported in the late 1800s, but can be found in places in game such as the St. Lawrence River.
