Hi there, Just installed Train Simulator and when I press play on Steam I get the splash screen coming up, my monitor goes black then it goes back to steam and the play button is showing again. Any ideas on what's causing this? It has generated an error file but that doesn't seem to give any information.

My first thought was a broken Workshop scenario but if you're just getting started in TS that's unlikely. Much info' here though if you have tried subscribing to scenarios: https://steamcommunity.com/app/24010/discussions/3/135510393194885346/ Has TS ever started properly? If so have you tried changing the settings? If the graphics settings are wrong in some way (set to a resolution that your hardware does not support for example) TS can run into all kinds of problems which it is most likely to cope with by crashing back to the desktop. The settings are kept in a file called PlayerProfile.bin which is quite capable of currupting itself by the way so, if it is screwed up, it's not necessarily due to any error on your part. Find it in your RailWorks folder, delete it and try starting TS again. TS will look for the file but will make a new one when it doesn't find it. If that doesn't work try a file verify.
Delighted. I'm not sure why but the file does get rewritten a lot which must increase the chances of it getting broken so this is a troubleshooting step always worth remembering. Welcome aboard BTW. Have a good one.
