My guy. You need to be a lot more specific. The P42 is not that easy to add. There are no routes in TSW that would make sense to make a P42 dlc. Most routes that it does run on only do daily service such as the Pennsylvanian on Horseshoe Curve, the Capitol Limited on Sand Patch, and the Coast Starlight on Peninsula Corridor. Nobody is gonna want a dlc that only comes with 2 services tops.
Be specific here since There are 3 versions P42DC P40DC P32AC DM. yet the game does fit P32AC DM because it runs Harlem Line to Amenia,NY Wassaic by starting the diesel engine at Southeast formerly Brewster North Amtrak version the Hudson Line.
I think a lot of us on the US side are hoping for some version of a P42 at some point. It'll be a bit tricky to implement well for reasons already mentioned by crazydash previously. Which route would you add it onto? You have to consider: how many actual services it runs on the route per day and are there even multiple stops, etc Like, sure, you can run a P42 version on HSC or SPG (i guess???), but who's buying the addon if there's no stops for boarding. Don't get me wrong, I'm reaaally itching to drive one but implementation is key here.
Best way to implement it is to include it into a route where multiple Amtrak LD trains originate and terminate at, (Like LA or Chicago, though both of route areas are limited by licenses from Metrolik and Metra for other AI traffic) then have them layer into routes where applicable. (Like PC, CC, SPG, and HSC.)
There are also corridor trains such as Downeaster, Hartford Line shuttles and Amtrak Midwest (Before the chargers replaced them). Downeaster and Hartford Shuttles are probably the best bet licensing-wise since downeaster runs on MBTA trackage early on, and Hartford shuttles run with CT Rail which I believe connects with DTG's New Haven license although I could be wrong.
well Dtg has license with the MBta so I’ll be surprised to see the Downeaster route sometime in the future.
