Because of Colchester, the route length, the route details, the London terminus of Liverpool station, maybe this TS Classic route London to Ipswich is the best candidate to raise to TSW4 standards ?

It has one misaligned speed restriction just before Ipswich where a 40 is enforced as the coming 30, but little else to complain about ...

Was it updated in the past ?

I was running in the Class 360 Desiro tapping Q all the way for AWS ... while using the L triggers on the PS4 controller now working great in Steam on PC.

Had to align 2 view before tapping 8 ... perhaps i have forgotten that as a TSC quirk ...

but a good long run London to Ipswich on Steam Train Simulator Classic with GEML route.

This should go in the suggestions tab. Besides that, I hear greater Anglia aren't willing to give out a license so this is unlikely

Most of these license woes that are reported aren't based on any facts. There was a rumour that DTG had lots the GWR license, and that DB strictly were against DTG adding any of their diesel trains to the game - both are obviously untrue.

The GWR license makes sense. WCL was in BR over branding issues and DTG have said there will never be any further work on GWE (although this could just be their general unwillingness to fix content they already charged for)

At this point it would just be yet another London focused commuter route, no doubt one handled EMU’s with poorly synthesised sounds. Would interest me if set back in the 60’s or 70’s when the main line trains were diesel hauled and you had Class 305 etc. EMU’s but a modern iteration would be a miss for me.

There are plenty of areas of the UK DTG have yet to bring to TSW, regardless of era, before another London/Home Counties project.

I think a great many of the, perhaps younger, segment of the player base grew up with and are very used to the rather clean, streamlined, uncluttered and colorful railways with trains which are mostly joystick driven electrics and clean, rather sterile stations.

Some of us grew up with a grimy, noisy railway with monotonal and weathered locos and cluttered, somewhat scruffy and deteriorating stations and infrastructure.

I guess you like what you're familiar with.

Of course I would say that the modern railway is rather characterless compared to the one of my youth. I like the Acela, but I look wistfully at the old Pennsylvania passenger locos along with the " E " and " F " monsters.

Fortunately, here in the States we still have noisy, weathered diesel locos pulling similar stock on an aging infrastructure.

There’s a guy with ATS that’s working on a completely revamped GEML from London to Ipswich. Last I knew it’s getting close to release. I’d keep an eye out for that if you enjoy it.

also ATS have got 745 and 755’s coming so that’s gonna be a solid route in TSC soon.
